The Super-conscious: Beyond the Conscious and Subconscious

Share Button

Many ancient cultures embraced the concept of the mind consisting of conscious awareness (and unconscious) coexisting with the soul or super-conscious.

“Just as the soul fills the body, so God fills the world. Just as the soul bears the body, so God endures the world. Just as the soul sees but is not seen, so God sees but is not seen. Just as the soul feeds the body, so God gives food to the world.” Marcus Tullius Cicero

Even though the Age of Reason in the 1700s largely cultivated a belief that human consciousness is merely a living body and a brain, the idea of consciousness beyond the physical seems to be gaining popularity in modern times.

“What is a soul? It’s like electricity – we don’t really know what it is, but it’s a force that can light a room.” Ray Charles

The soul has many synonyms, including, for example, super-conscious, higher-self, God-self, divine essence, sixth sense, and spirit. According to the tenets of reincarnation and karma, the soul is eternal and incarnates time and time again to learn specific lessons. Our findings show that the soul often has a different agenda than your earthly personality.

“You have to go through those mountains and valleys – because that’s what life is: soul growth.” Wayne Newton

“The soul is placed in the body like a rough diamond, and must be polished, or the luster of it will never appear.” Daniel Defoe

“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” Helen Keller

Your higher-self is the mysterious side of yourself that you may temporarily access while in deep meditation and, or when you have piercing prophetic insight about the future.

A case could be made for what people believe to be the soul instead being the unconscious part of the mind, the subconscious. You may sometimes have dreams that dredge up unconscious notions.

However, it’s difficult to justify prophetic dreams being a mere function of your unconscious mind, particularly with vivid details of life circumstances that come to fruition. The idea that your soul, the direct connection to the all-knowing God-force, sometimes relays facets of actual future events to you via a dream state is much more logical than the source being your subconscious mind, which doesn’t possess a crystal ball.

Our findings show that those rare, conscious connections to your soul, divinatory flashes of insight, tend to increase due to two things: making a consistent effort to be centered such as though regular meditation, and your collective astrological and numerological timing being conducive to consciously accessing your higher-self’s knowledge.

While you are connecting with your soul and having psychic impressions, you’re tapping into the other side, the higher-dimensions or Akashic Records, where all information about the past, present and future is stored.

If you were able to consciously peruse these records at your leisure, we suspect you would get the distinct impression that karma (which works in conjunction with reincarnation) is a valid concept, it must be balanced directly through experience, and it is one of the most important universal laws linked to your soul.

“Your own soul is nourished when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel.” King Solomon

“Ordinary riches can be stolen; real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” Oscar Wilde

“The only thing you can take with you is that which you have given away.” Frank Capra

Your subconscious mind is where all past and present life memories, fears, defenses, and inner talents are stored. We believe it’s separate from your super-conscious or soul, your direct connection to all that is in the unseen dimensions and the universe. Consciously acknowledging this part of your being is a big step toward ultimately taking full responsibility for your life, which helps you more easily make the most of it.

Ultimate Spirituality: Get To Know Your Subconscious Mind Part 5

Ultimate spirituality, in part, involves uncovering your hidden personality, the distinct strengths and weaknesses that are underneath your persona. Try as you might, you aren’t really in control of your subconscious mind which greatly influences your behavior.

Although some of your concealed personality traits may not be very pleasant, uncovering your true nature can help maximize your talents and make the most of your life circumstances.

In the previous articles in this series, we’ve outlined specific examples of the power of the subconscious mind, as well as multiple, specific, common subconscious fears and defenses.

Below we outline three ways to access your subconscious mind and identify your hidden character traits, helping you achieve greater spiritual growth.

1. Meditation is one of the best ways to discover your inner self, the real you. Despite being free, it’s not easy for a novice to immediately take advantage of meditation to make serious headway with self-discovery.

First, it takes time to establish a solid inner connection. You must regularly practice meditation for the most benefit.

Second, your concealed mind is likely to fight you in the beginning. As you sit down and begin your session, you may suddenly have an itch on your face, or a fear of forgetting to turn off the lights in another room may seize you; that’s your subconscious playing games. Your collective fears, defenses, and strengths doesn’t like not being in control as you attempt to detach from it, which is the essence of meditation. After all, the simplest form of meditation is intense focus (such as on your chest-plate and breathing), and as you intensely focus, you gradually detach from your daily dramas and hustle and bustle of your everyday mind.

Imagine what it’s like for a mountain-climber as she intensely focuses on her climb; she must focus 100% to survive the climb. In the process, she temporarily forgets about everything else in her life, just as with a good meditation session. The ability to temporarily, completely let go of your current mind-dramas offers tremendous perspective.

It may surprise you that you might be able to get in a partial meditative state through various ways such as swimming, walking in the forest, knitting, driving a familiar route, and anything else that you can do without thinking that helps you release from an over-active mind.

“Meditation gives you two things: equanimity and creativity. And it does that by taking one from their conscious mind, where there’s all that noise and chaos and so on, into the subconscious mind where there’s quiet and where creativity emanates from. You have a mantra, and when you repeat it over and over again, all those thoughts go away because you shift them to that mantra. And then eventually that sound disappears, and then you’re left not conscious or unconscious – you’re left in this subconscious state, and by opening that up, first of all you get control of it.” Ray Dalio

2. Hypnosis is a fantastic way to access your subconscious personality. It is defined by the American Heritage Science Dictionary as “A trancelike state resembling sleep, usually induced by a therapist by focusing a subject’s attention, that heightens the subject’s receptivity to suggestion. The uses of hypnosis in medicine and psychology include recovering repressed memories, modifying or eliminating undesirable behavior (such as smoking), and treating certain chronic disorders, such as anxiety.”

The only change we would make to that definition is that the vast majority of people do not go to sleep when hypnotized; it’s just a very relaxed state and you’re in complete control. Have you ever zoned out watching TV? Then you’ve experienced a state of hypnosis. Although a trained hypnotherapist can be of great help, there is an even easier and cheaper way: you can use hypnosis MP3 audios, a form of self-hypnosis, to help identify hidden facets of your personality, including childhood issues.

3. Handwriting analysis, or graphology, by a well-trained professional is very effective in delineating subconscious fears and defenses. It’s one of the most objective and least discriminatory forms of personality analysis. All of the personality traits outlined in the previous articles in this series are readily identified by graphology.

Before we embraced handwriting analysis as a potential effective means to assess character, we wanted to confirm that it is a genuine science, instead of a pseudoscience. Merriam-Webster dictionary defines pseudoscience as “A system of theories, assumptions, and methods erroneously regarded as scientific.” It defines scientific as “Of, relating to, or exhibiting the methods or principles of science.” It defines science as “A knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method.” Finally, it defines scientific method as “Principles and procedures for the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition and formulation of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses.”

Handwriting analysis is empirically based, an “…objective collection of data through observation and experiment and the formulation and testing of hypotheses.” Therefore, graphology is an authentic science.

Graphology is used extensively by major corporations in Italy, Spain, France, and Israel for personnel selection. American companies that use it include G.E., Ford, Northwestern Mutual Life, Dairy Queen, and many smaller companies.

Rest assured, handwriting analysis is one of the most legitimately effective ways to uncover hidden features of your mind.

“Something happens when your subconscious goes to work… That’s why ‘Sleep on it’ is an adage.” Jon Voight

“Never go to sleep without a request to your subconscious.” Thomas A. Edison

The first step to uncover your unconscious mind’s power is to acknowledge that your collective subconscious mind exists. Then, by utilizing the tools we outline above, nothing is standing in your way to greater self-knowledge, thus a greater ability to overcome life’s challenges and achieve your full potential.

Ultimate Spirituality: Get To Know Your Subconscious Mind Part 4

The power of the human mind is truly remarkable. You’re consciously aware of the content of this article as you read it, but the focus of your collective subconscious mind is likely elsewhere, and is infinitely more powerful.

Ultimately, you can’t control what your subconscious mind does; it greatly influences your thinking and actions and doesn’t always go along with your conscious decisions.

“I need one of those baby monitors from my subconscious to my consciousness so I can know what the hell I’m really thinking about.” Steven Wright

Pretending to be absolutely rational in decision-making is an amusing, universal human trait; the subconscious mind’s fears, defenses, biases, and strengths guide and potentially even overpower your conscious thinking, even though you believe your conscious mind is logically determining your behavior.

Everyone has a unique collection and varying degrees of subconscious fears and defenses, which sometimes cause questionable behavior. It’s good to keep in mind that nobody is perfect and you can’t just put aside ingrained, concealed fears and defenses anymore than you can put aside the need for regular sleep.

It’s possible to modify many subconscious fears such as fear of abandonment, but you must learn to live with other, more deep-rooted fears.

Subconscious defenses are more difficult to modify. Subconscious resistance-type defense patterns such as domineering behavior are some of the more menacing personality traits and are hard to adjust.

Escape-type subconscious defense patterns, such as severe evasiveness seem to be the most difficult to modify.

Below we summarize numerous, common, problematic subconscious traits, including fears and defenses.

1. One of the most misery-inducing, hidden personality traits is excessive resentment. It’s common to take some time to forgive wrongs, but the inability to let go of past wrongs and finally fully forgive is a sign that the subject may do great harm to her emotional well-being. Those perceived injustices could pile up and pollute an otherwise beautiful soul.

2. Excessive inhibition and sensitivity to criticism are two traits that can greatly hinder partnerships of all kinds; the subject is too hesitant and shy, making healthy interpersonal and business relationships almost impossible.

3. Excessive secretiveness and, or evasiveness can also greatly impede interpersonal and business relationships. The subject covertly acting on her own accord behind the scenes, refusing to convey important information, and a general lack of transparency leaves others wondering whether they should dissolve the partnership.

4. An individual who has great difficulty living up to his asserted convictions displays a lack of integrity. It isn’t very pleasant to discover that someone close to you says he believes in one thing, yet does the opposite. This is one reason why it’s important to be very cautious in dealings with career politicians.

5. Excessive dishonesty is often associated with criminal behavior. Thus, those who are insincere, deceivers and, or blatant liars should be avoided at all costs.

6. The danger of excessive conflict avoidance is that the subject could be manipulated and maneuvered into a desired decision or direction. It’s also one of those traits that, although it initially contributes to fewer arguments in partnerships, it can ultimately cause a lot of discord. Eventually, potential ill feelings and differences will surface in some form or another.

7. Excessive defiance and, or stubbornness involves the subject resorting to unreasonable and unyielding behavior to her and others’ detriment. She is unaccommodating and makes a sport out of being uncooperative.

8. An individual who inordinately bluffs is an extraordinary pretender and can’t be taken seriously. Eventually, he is exposed as a phony.

Remarkably, just by being conscious of the fact that you have hidden character traits can be a huge help in self-discovery and getting the most out of your life.

After you address your concealed challenges, it’s much easier to take advantage of your hidden talents.

Ultimate Spirituality: Get To Know Your Subconscious Mind Part 3

Beyond your conscious awareness resides your collective subconscious with unique fears, biases, defenses, and abilities that comprises the real you.

One of the fastest ways to advance your self-knowledge, thus, spirituality, is to delve into your concealed mind; self-awareness is one of the keys to optimizing your talents and opportunities, making the most of your life.

“The subconscious is ceaselessly murmuring, and it is by listening to these murmurs that one hears its truth.” Gaston Bachelard

“Hunches [are] just messages from the subconscious, which [is] thinking furiously all the time and processing information we have not consciously noted.” Dean Koontz

You mostly can’t control subconscious impressions and how your subconscious operates, which greatly influences your thinking.

Nobody is perfect. Due to the ingrained nature of each individual’s distinct concealed fears and defenses, it’s wise to be sympathetic to the fact that an individual can’t simply put them aside on demand and be perfectly rational, just like he can’t simply put aside his inability to defy gravity.

It’s possible to modify many subconscious fears such as fear of flying, but you must learn to live with other, more entrenched fears, and subconscious defenses can’t really be modified very much.

Subconscious resistance-type defense patterns such as resentment and aggressiveness are some of the more threatening and troubling personality traits and are hard to adjust.

Even more difficult to amend than the above-listed defenses are escape-type subconscious defense patterns such as acute self-deception and secretiveness.

Below we outline multiple, common, problematic subconscious traits, including fears and defenses.

1. Excessive desire for the acquisition of money and material things can be good for a business that pays its sales reps on commission, but this trait can be toxic otherwise, such as in relationships for obvious reasons. Coupled with deviousness, it can also easily lead to underhanded or even criminal behavior.

2. Someone with a savior complex does “the right thing” to his detriment. He typically enters a relationship with someone who is markedly mentally or emotionally wounded in attempt to save that person, whether he is conscious of it or not. It becomes a problem when he helps everyone but himself.

3. A person with excessive vanity and narcissism is a liability to any partnership or organization (and to herself) due to, in part, the fact that she can be manipulated through excessive praise and admiration. This trait is sometimes confused with having a “big ego,” but it’s actually representative of a weak ego, a weak ego-self.

4. Excessive rationalization, self-deception, and lack of objectivity are very common negative characteristics. Everyone rationalizes a little every now and then, but when it’s a full-blown, full-time idiosyncrasy, these are the types of people who firmly believe their lies, to the astonishment of those around them. It usually begins in childhood when the subject learns to fool himself because the truth is too painful for him to face squarely. For example, in his memory, his father didn’t abandon the family; he was merely pulled away due to strange life circumstances.

5. A person with excessive restlessness may jump from project to project, never completing much. It’s possible the process of focusing for too long on any given area of interest may unearth some secret memories in her subconscious she is unwilling to confront.

6. Perfectionism and, or excessive attention to detail causes a person to get lost in details while they miss the big picture.

7. Problematic emotional balance and maturity causes someone to lapse into an immature disposition while under pressure, to the chagrin of those around him.

Amazingly, simply being aware of the fact that you have hidden personality traits, beyond your persona, can be a big step toward self-awareness and getting more out of life. Once you address your hidden challenges, it’s much easier to cultivate your hidden talents.

Ultimate Spirituality: Get To Know Your Subconscious Mind Part 2

The ancients knew there is much more to the human mind than that which you are consciously aware. The hidden mind is the real power of your mind.

“The conscious mind is the editor, and the subconscious mind is the writer.” Steve Martin

“It’s interesting what pops out of an author’s subconscious when he’s not thinking about it.” Nick Petrie

Getting in touch with your subconscious fears, defenses, and talents is the essence of spirituality and vital to getting the most out of your life. Until you do that, you’re dealing only with the superficial you, not the authentic you.

Four Examples of The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

1. Subconscious beliefs at odds with conscious views generate internal strife, making your life more difficult. This is surprisingly common, particularly involving the topic of sex.

Present-day statistics regarding marriage, cheating, and divorce suggest life-long monogamy isn’t natural for a large portion of the population. If you consider this and the majority of civilization—throughout recorded history– shunning the relatively recent (mostly Western) matrimonial requirement of strict, life-long monogamy, you’ll wonder why modern couples subscribe to such a code.

Yet it’s very common for young couples to enter life-long marriage contracts with the understanding that they will only have sex with each other for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately there can be quite a contrast with the concealed and conscious mind when it comes to sex.

Human instinct and subconscious impressions aren’t in accordance with the life-long monogamy model, at all. Although it’s noble to try to never think about sex with anyone else, it’s hopeless on an subconscious level, and that’s where the bulk of the influence of your mind resides.

While you restrict your conscious mind to pure and faithful thoughts, your subconscious mind is pursuing fantasies in the back of your mind. Eventually, if it’s strong enough, your concealed self, the real you, makes an appearance and crashes the morality construct. We applaud you for striving to be faithful to your partner, but too often the subconscious mind has other plans, which due to the stark contrast causes a tremendous amount of inner conflict.

Admitting strict life-long monogamy isn’t for everyone, and that it’s difficult to know yourself well enough at a young age to determine if life-long monogamy is for you, would be a good start to overcome this problem.

2. That sudden fear you have of accidentally leaving the oven on when you’re getting in the car to go to an important therapy session is a false fear. You run in the house and realize the oven is off and that it was your subconscious trying to get you to avoid going to the therapy session; you’re about to discover an important, long-hidden subconscious fear you possess. The subconscious mind wants to remain in control, and anything that may conflict with it is a problem, which manifests as internal strife.

3. Trying to be a better person, you admirably decide that from now on you’ll avoid getting angry or upset and instead forever project calm understanding and compassion. The problem is your subconscious mind has other plans, due to it being perfectly natural to (constructively) feel and express negative emotions. Refusing to acknowledge not so nice emotions, repressing that energy, eventually yields the beach-ball-under-water effect: since that energy eventually has to go somewhere, you’ll inappropriately blow up at someone or otherwise lose your cool.

4. The unconditional love and selflessness of a mother tending to her infant’s needs is naturally praiseworthy. The problem with the concept of selflessness occurs when someone completely denies his or her self-interest, which everyone has in varying degrees, despite some people stating otherwise.

Denying that you have at least some self-interest, such as in meeting your basic needs, causes havoc with the subconscious mind. An example is the political advocate projecting his (natural) selfishness onto innocent parties, generating unnecessary strife. So often, those who protest the loudest are guilty, often in some hidden way (even having to do with past life actions) of said offense. There is such a denial of their wrongdoing and the conflict it generates with their subconscious mind that it negatively affects their life and other people.

Your hidden mind, with all of its fears, biases, defenses, and unique skills is often irrational, just like a child. You can’t control it, but you can acknowledge your subconscious and try to work with it to more easily reach your goals. Simply becoming more aware of it is a good start to making the most of your life.

“The subconscious mind has no sense of humor and people often joke themselves into unhappy experiences.” Florence Scovel Shinn

Ultimate Spirituality: Get To Know Your Subconscious Mind Part 1

Your mind is comprised of what you are consciously aware of and what is hidden from your awareness, the subconscious or unconscious.

Considering your spiritual self is your inner self, it’s very spiritual to get in touch with your subconscious fears, defenses, and strengths. We believe it’s necessary for ultimate self-discovery and to make the most of your life. Until you do that you’re only dealing with the surface you, not the real you.

“One of the unfortunate things about our education system is that we do not teach students how to avail themselves of their subconscious capabilities.” Bill Lear

“People who excel at book learning tend to call up from memory what they have learned in order to follow stored instructions. Others who are better at internalized learning use the thoughts that flow from their subconscious. The experienced skier doesn’t recite instructions on how to ski and then execute them; rather, he does it well ‘without thinking,’ in the same way he breathes without thinking. Understanding these differences is essential.” Ray Dalio

Three Examples of Subconscious Mind Power

  1. Subconscious beliefs at odds with conscious views generate internal strife, making your life more difficult. This is surprisingly common, particularly involving the topic of money.

Consciously, Trent has a burning desire to be wealthy. He’s making all the right connections and is recognized as one of the best in his field. Yet Trent’s parents routinely vilified “rich people” in Trent’s younger years. He constantly heard about how the rich were horrible people: the owner of the business that employed Trent’s father was a “greedy rich guy,” his mother’s cousin and her family were “rich jerks,” and so on. By the time Trent was eighteen, his subconscious mind automatically associated wealth with terrible people.

Having such a strong negative subconscious belief of wealth, is it any wonder that Trent has made a series of bad decisions in his career and financial life that has led to him being of modest means? No way Trent’s concealed mind would allow him to be one of those awful rich people who his parents hate. Worse, Trent doesn’t even acknowledge this, and attributes his life to “bad luck.” You can’t become what you resent, and if your concealed mind has a big problem with what you aspire to be, it’ll be a constant struggle.

  1. Another common way subconscious beliefs are at odds with conscious views, making your life more difficult, is involving attractiveness and looks.

Several lifetimes ago (considering reincarnation is a viable theory), Geraldine had a lifetime as one of the prettiest young ladies in her European village. Unfortunately, an obsessed rogue singled her out, stalked her, and eventually violently raped her, ruining her life.

As a young girl, Faye was sexually molested. Upon maturity, she finds she has an eating disorder; she can’t stop eating.

Both of these women, Faye, and Geraldine, are morbidly obese, though if they lost the weight both would be much more attractive.

The obesity and subsequent unattractive appearance keeps both of them “safe.” Although they don’t consciously realize it yet, they fear losing the weight and becoming attractive because their concealed mind associates attractiveness with sexual abuse and rape. The hidden part of their mind does everything in its power to make them avoid shedding the weight, and thus feeling more vulnerable.

  1. Another way concealed beliefs are at odds with conscious views, making your life more difficult, is involving relationships.

Bob wants to be in a serious relationship instead of being single. He seems to unknowingly sabotage every opportunity and relationship he’s in, to his dismay. He doesn’t yet realize that his concealed mind associates relationships with horrendous pain, loss, and suffering due to one of his most recent past lives as a merchant: he was very happily married, yet his wife died young. At that time, he made a vow to remain single in honor of his deceased wife. This painful experience and subsequent vow, deeply hidden in his mind, are causing big problems in his life today.

The subconscious mind, with all of its fears, biases, defenses, and hidden talents, is largely illogical and always in survival mode, like a fearful animal. Subconscious thinking must be aligned with conscious desires in order to reach your goals more quickly. Though it does serve a very important role in protecting you, taking the first step in realizing that there’s more to your mind than your conscious mind is vital toward making the most of your life.

“The minute you say ‘I can’t’, it is another wrong affirmation to your subconscious that you choose to lose.” Tsem Tulku

How To Use Spiritual Laws To Your Advantage In Life

Share Button

Many people claim using the law of attraction can help reach goals. Does it always work? No, because there are other spiritual laws, some that supersede the law of attraction, you need to be aware of in order to have an advantage in life.

Law of Universal Order

Examples of this law include planetary motions, tides, and the change of seasons, and why comprehensive astrology and numerology can accurately interpret personal fate. You can use these tools to predict and prepare for future life events.

Law of Soul Over Personality

Your personality might want to be incredibly wealthy or famous, but your soul might have chosen a different path before you incarnated. Fortunately, the more you calm your mind (like through meditation, exercise, or artistic endeavors), and unblock your energy (through Spiritual Detox or other clearing methods), the easier it will be to perceive your best path. When you are on your highest path, the efforts of your personality will be more likely to match the plan of your soul.

Law of Subconscious Dominance

The subconscious mind stores everything that’s ever happened to you, in this life and previous lives, and it has a lot more power over you than it may seem. Phobias are an example of this; someone who has a fear of flying can tell himself he is safe, be assured the pilot is experienced, and so on, but his body and mind will still react like a crash is inevitable as soon as he steps onto the plane. Another example is someone who has a fear of poverty; she might become a workaholic, and won’t be able to slow down even when it works against her and other parts of her life suffer. Fortunately, hypnosis and past life regression can be used successfully to find and release the root cause of these and most other fears. You can also use hypnosis or subliminal MP3s to give suggestions and direction to your subconscious mind to help achieve any goal.

Law of Reincarnation

67% of Americans don’t believe they’ve lived past lives, but that doesn’t stop their soul from incarnating again and again. This type of amnesia isn’t a bad thing, since it helps everyone focus on what’s most important: the present. Still, you can use your past lives to your advantage by going back to a past life when you were very skilled at something, for example, and bring forward that talent, discipline, and or drive.

Law of Intent

When your conscious intent is different from your subconscious desires or fears, you’ll encounter more conflict. You can minimize this by acknowledging your faults and working to improve them.

Law of Projection

You perceive the world as you are, not as it is. However, the more you understand yourself, your defenses and fears, and the more you try to see other people and situations without bias, the better off you will be.

Law of Destiny or Fate

Your destiny and fate (both words have the same meaning) began before you were born, after your soul (not your personality) agreed to the specific lifetime that included the physical body, early life family, and related experiences. The karma of your soul, from many lifetimes, also contributes to your destiny and fate, or what you experience in this particular life.

Due to the unseen force of destiny and fate, you cannot manifest and maintain something major that isn’t at least somewhat within its unique realm. But the more you are in tune with yourself and your highest path (through centering and unblocking), the less likely you’ll be to waste time taking the wrong exits on the freeway of fate.

Law of Karma

This one is quite simple; don’t do anything to others that you wouldn’t want done to you. All actions, words, and intent really do return to sender, and usually not in this life. This includes good karma too. However, not all “bad” experiences are due to negative actions in the distant past. Sometimes they’re just part of the path your soul chose for various reasons.

Law of Free Will

Fortunately, you have free will to react to fate and karmic situations. If you don’t like something in your life, you can use your free will to change it, within the confines of your destiny, or at least learn to accept it.

Law of Asking for Help

So much protection and guidance is available to you from the spiritual dimensions, including hints about your next best step for any goal, but you must ask for it and then pay attention. We recommend asking guides of the Light, (your) God, your Higher Self, and any other energies of the Light you pray to. Do not mess with the dark side, or you’ll regret it and forever be indebted to it.

We hope that by understanding how spiritual laws influence your life, you’ll use them to your advantage and experience more love, happiness, and success.

Hypnosis Myths Part II

Share Button

The average person might think of hypnosis, based on what they’ve seen in entertaining stage shows, as a means to control other people. But that’s a myth and hypnosis actually has many benefits most people aren’t aware of.

Hypnosis is defined by The American Heritage Science Dictionary as “A trancelike state resembling sleep, usually induced by a therapist by focusing a subject’s attention, that heightens the subject’s receptivity to suggestion. The uses of hypnosis in medicine and psychology include recovering repressed memories, modifying or eliminating undesirable behavior (such as smoking), and treating certain chronic disorders, such as anxiety.”

You’ve likely experienced a state of hypnosis many times, such as while zoning out watching TV. You don’t need a therapist to use hypnosis; hypnosis MP3 audios, a form of self-hypnosis, are particularly effective to get to the root of hidden fears and defenses, childhood issues, and relationship problems.

Question:
“Isn’t hypnosis spiritually dangerous? My faith is at odds with your teachings. As a Christian, I believe hypnosis opens the door to the devil and is mind control. Better to just ask God to show you what you need to do. Hypnosis deprives a person of free will and reasonable thought.”

Answer:
Aside from avoiding hypnosis while in a moving vehicle or operating heavy machinery, it’s about as dangerous as zoning out and daydreaming while sitting on your couch (or in a pew half asleep during services).

Hypnosis addresses mainly subconscious concerns, such as hidden memories, and fears and defenses. It can also be used to address past lives, or even future lives, and guidance from your higher-self or super-consciousness.

“If someone is able to show me that what I think or do is not right, I will happily change, for I seek the truth, by which no one was ever truly harmed. It is the person who continues in his self-deception and ignorance who is harmed.” ― Marcus Aurelius

Contrary to how hypnosis is depicted in some mindless Hollywood movie plots, it’s not mind control, and you don’t give up your free will or rational thought while hypnotized.

Your mind is of two main parts: your conscious mind, and your subconscious mind. Your unique fears and defenses, some rational, and many irrational, such as fear of success, reside in your unconscious. Hypnosis allows you to uncover the workings of your secret mind, beyond all the societal programming.

Conflict avoidance, and fear of dealing with the cold, hard facts of life, for example, may block a person from attempting to heal using regression therapy and hypnosis.

A case could be made that the real danger is keeping memories and false fears pushed way down within. Repression is like trying to hold an inflatable toy under water—the character traits and memories stuffed below will surface eventually. Whether consciously or unconsciously repressing personal issues, it depletes energy and causes problems in all areas of life.

It’s understandable that a person may not be ready to face his or her complex issues, and that is okay. He or she is not alone. But if he or she is ready, hypnosis is a powerful healing and self-discovery tool.

Though acknowledging hidden fears and defenses, and early life memories, may be unpleasant at first, the opportunity for personal growth and healing outweighs the initial pain.

Hypnosis Myths Part I

Share Button

Hypnosis is perhaps most widely (and falsely) known as the state of being helplessly under the control of another person’s suggestions, such as in an entertaining stage show. Too many people incorrectly assume hypnosis is dangerous, But the truth about Hypnosis is quite different.

You may not realize you’ve experienced a hypnotic state many times, such as when letting your mind wander while driving a long, familiar route. That feeling of losing track of time while zoning out, which is similar to hypnosis, isn’t dangerous.

Hypnosis can be invaluable in modifying unconscious fears such as fear of flying, and can help in goal-achievement by coaxing your subconscious mind to align with your conscious goals. Hypnosis MP3 audios, a form of self-hypnosis, are especially effective if used regularly and over a long period of time.

“I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the hardest victory is over self.” – Aristotle

Question:
“My doctor told me it’s necessary to seek out a licensed professional with advanced training from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, otherwise hypnosis is too dangerous. Is this true?”

Answer:
No. Hypnosis as a means of healing and self-knowledge has been in existence long before the medical industry tried to hijack it. Mere common sense will keep you safe, such as don’t use self-hypnosis (e.g. MP3 audios) while driving or operating heavy machinery.

“Though the doctors treated him, let his blood, and gave him medications to drink, he nevertheless recovered.” ― Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace

Hypnosis doesn’t make a person give up their will—nobody will do something they don’t really want to do, such as embarrass themselves, or worse, commit a crime. Unless it’s being mixed with a cocktail of mind-altering drugs, like during a covert three-letter agency interrogation while the subject is strapped to a steel chair in the basement of a safe house, hypnosis is as harmless as watching TV.

Hypnosis can be uncomfortable since it has the ability to uncover subconscious memories (and not false ones as long as the therapist isn’t using leading questions), and get to the root of stubborn subconscious fears and defense patterns. Such an eye-opening experience can be unsettling, but you don’t need a doctor to face the truth and your mind typically won’t show you anything you’re not ready to perceive. A therapist can help talk you through your issues, but hypnotism is safe to use without any certification.

Sometimes conscious beliefs and understanding can be at great odds with the subconscious mind, which generates conflict. For example, even though you’re single and may consciously desire a relationship, if your unconscious mind associates love life relationships with pain and adversity, it will do everything in its power (despite your conscious wishes) to generate circumstances to keep you single.

Your collective subconscious mind, with all of your unique fears and defenses (everyone has his or her own unique set) is always in survival mode, and mostly illogical like a fearful child. For instance, as you attempt to detach from your mind through meditation, your subconscious abruptly sends you the message that you forgot to close the garage door–anything to get you to avoid meditation and maintain control over your life.

Generating rational fears too (e.g. look both ways before crossing the street), it certainly protects you from danger in the world, but it can also irrationally block you from what you want.

Subconscious thinking must match conscious wishes to reach goals quickly, and this is one way hypnosis can be very useful; subliminal programming helps to coax your subconscious mind to go along with your conscious plans.

You can’t consciously control unconscious functioning and impressions, which largely direct your behavior, but hypnosis can help to modify many subconscious fears, like fear of success or abandonment. You can’t rid yourself of many fears and defenses, but you can learn to live with them through hypnosis and subliminal programming.

Did you know that affirmations can help you create more success and abundance?

Some people say you can get rich with positive thinking. Is this true for anyone?

Based on our many years of empirical research, our findings show that success and abundance potential is measurable and different for everyone, and has a lot to do with personal timing, which mirrors your fate (another word for destiny).
