Response to Cynic About the Concept of Personal Fate, karma, and Rape

Share Button

The views we hold about personal fate and karma, such as at least 75% of the core circumstances and events in everyone’s life are predestined, are controversial.

We regularly receive unsolicited (usually anonymous) feedback like this:

“What about the law of attraction? Don’t we co-create our lives, our realities? I think so. Your information is depressing.

“I agree that suffering is a choice. But you seem too extreme in your point of view. We all have a blueprint and we all have our challenges and blessings, but I don’t believe that EVERYTHING is set in stone. Amy Winehouse or Whitney Houston didn’t have to die so young.

“I’ve seen miracles all my life and faith can create miracles even when it’s hopeless. Would you tell a woman who has been raped that it’s her fate?

That’s a lot to consider, and it’s important to note this person misunderstands our philosophies.

We’ve never said that everything in life is fated. As we say above, and we’ve always said, we believe at least 75% of the key events and conditions of your life are preordained; the most significant events in life, including things that cause you the most stress or joy, are things your soul (not personality) agreed to endure or enjoy before incarnating.

Using the law of attraction as a centerpiece of spiritual philosophy, while denying all other spiritual laws and simultaneously maintaining a victim consciousness, and refusing to take responsibility for everything in your life you have “co-created,” is short-sighted. Conscious (after you’ve incarnated) co-creation and the law of attraction are only two facets of the complex spiritual experience.

As for the things we say being “depressing,” depression also follows a massive sugar high. The way to avoid that sinking, powerless feeling is to avoid sugar. Likewise, the way to avoid being depressed by the reality of life is to empower yourself by doing what you can to change what you don’t like, and accepting what you can’t change.

To be clear, as we’ve always said, we simply relay our objective findings. For example, when we see unique patterns (consisting of dozens of factors) in someone’s personal comprehensive astrology and numerology charts symbolizing financial challenges during a certain period, time and time again, without fail, the subject endures financial challenges.

No amount of conscious creating or practicing the law of attraction will override that. Why? Because it’s part of that person’s fate. They have free will to react to it (and prepare, thanks to the warning from us), but not change it. Rewards are fated too, by the way.

Would you prefer we conceal our findings and instead promise only sunshine and rainbows? That would be going against our convictions and doing you a disservice. We refuse to sell out and gloss over important spiritual concepts just to attract more followers.

Only wanting the good parts of life to be destined is a bit like wanting good health from only eating sweets. On the other hand, when you consider the spiritual purpose and meaning behind negative experiences, they’re easier to deal with.

As for whether or not it’s predestined for some people to die young, consider this: If a person has strong signs of addiction and over-doing it with drugs and alcohol in their comprehensive charts, endures self-abuse for years and shows no signs of letting up, we’d like to think they have free will to pull themselves out of it, but if they don’t stop (and time and time again, they don’t), we call it predetermination.

Taking into account the tragic loss and other related indications at that time in the comprehensive charts of those close to the person who died, it seems to us that it was fate instead of “probability” or “possibility.”

By the way, although longevity (approximate duration of life) can be determined with comprehensive astrology and numerology, it’s a morbid topic and we don’t make a habit of delving into it.

The writer also mentions miracles. As we’ve said before, we believe miracles are fate disguised.

Regarding men and women who are raped (according to a 12-9-2014 theweek.com article, if you include the prison population, men are raped more often than women in the U.S.), or those who endure other horrors, we don’t believe anyone deserves it. Also, we don’t believe in a vengeful higher power that punishes you, but that your soul (again, not your personality) agrees to all your key earthly experiences before birth.

The idea that at least 75% of your main life events and circumstances are fated isn’t the subject of today’s spiritual best-sellers because people demand inspiration, escapism, and instant gratification.

A smaller percentage of people strive to view life as spiritual beings having an earthly experience, and understand that the explanations for life’s atrocities are beyond the if-I-can’t-touch-it-it-doesn’t-exist thinking that mundane, rational thought offers.

Throughout the phases of your life, what you can’t and can change, is as depressing or heartening and empowering as you decide to view it.

9 Examples of Passing Your Spiritual Tests

Share Button

Are you passing your spiritual tests? We believe everyone frequently has the opportunity to pass spiritual tests, and in the process create a better world and good karma for the future.

Sometimes it’s not easy, but if you do the right thing and respond with honesty, unconditional love, and tolerance, you’ll pass the spiritual test.

Don’t feel bad if you sometimes fail a spiritual test because everyone is here to learn and that’s part of the process. As long as you make an effort you will reap the benefits in the future.

Below are examples of how to best handle spiritual tests.

1) While out with a group of friends, several of them gossip about a woman across the crowded bar, judging her for being “easy.” You happen to know her and that she’s a very kind person. Instead of keeping your mouth shut in order to keep the peace, you speak up, defend the woman, and call out your friends for projecting their sexual shame onto her.

2) You’ve tried to get along with that coworker of yours, but he always manages to push your buttons and strike when you least expect it. Instead of striking back, you detach, try your best not to take his actions personally, and accept him for the jerk that he is.

3) While shopping one day, a man walks by and accidentally drops his wallet full of cash. He looks loaded and you could really use the money, but you remind yourself that you’re not entitled to a stranger’s money unless they give it to you. You pick up the wallet, run after him, and hand it back.

4) Your ex-husband treated you horribly, but you never speak badly about him in front of the children, even though you’re aware that he does. It’s painful at times, but you hold your tongue and remind yourself that they’ll realize the truth when they’re older.

5) You have the option to lie about your sexual orientation and date the opposite sex, but you decide it would be selfish and unfair to deceive someone in order to hide your true orientation. Instead, you gather your courage, care less what others think, and live your life the way you really want to.

6) You fell out of love with him years ago. Instead of staying because of the money and having an affair with the other man you’ve fallen for, you’re honest with your husband and set him free so he can find someone more compatible.

7) You’ve experienced a lot of racism and you have no tolerance for it. However, when an acquaintance is accused of racism and you know it’s not true, you defend her. You understand that it would be unfair and unwise to use anyone in an attempt to stop racism.

8) A coworker and friend is accused of something she didn’t do. You know the truth, but if you speak out, it could jeopardize your job. Instead of saying nothing and allowing her to suffer, you tell your boss the truth.

9) You’re in love with your girlfriend but one day you check her phone while she’s in the shower and discover she’s been cheating. You have the opportunity to expose some nasty secrets to her boss and get her fired, but you know that revenge would only create negative karma. Instead, you bite the bullet, accept her infidelity and that it will take you some time to get over the betrayal and pain, and move on.

New Age Case Study–You Can’t Avoid Fate And What to do Instead

Share Button

We offered our sympathy when a friend expressed anxiety about a very tough personal situation she was going through. Hearing about her situation reminded us about the futility of attempting to dodge personal fate and adversity.

She said, “Aside from the challenges in my childhood, or maybe because of them, I’ve always managed to power though the tough periods in life. But now I’m going through some really overwhelming things and I’m about at my breaking point, consumed with worry and fear.”

She went on to say, “My ex-husband is in trouble with the IRS, and he’s facing charges for being way behind in child support. Now he’s trying to take full custody of our children because he’s very angry that he had to go to court about child support. He probably won’t win, but he’s playing dirty and it’s costing me a lot of money and my good reputation. He wants to steal my children, move them to another state, and wants me to pay for it!”

“I must have been a very horrible person in a past lifetime because I can see no wisdom in all that’s been happening. Usually I can see the lesson or the wisdom in it. This time I’m truly blind.”

We mentioned that while fate is likely at play, it may also be a case of 1 + 1 = 2 (marrying someone who is not compatible and who has serious personality red flags, which were hidden until it was too late = problems).

We told her that she’s an honorable person now, that’s what matters most, and even if she did keep her kids from her ex in a past life, it’s best not to worry about that now because everyone has been incorrigible in past lives.

She also mentioned that she dabbled in some New Age manifestation techniques (spells) and, “Literally, it blew up in my face and made things worse. ‘Manifesting’ proved to be very dangerous in my case.”

“It’s a given this is a very tough time in your life,” we said, “but as you know, personal fate frequently isn’t logical when viewed from just the perspective of this lifetime. Maybe you’ve been led to believe, by the usual New Age suspects, that you wouldn’t have to endure such pain if you would just believe in the ‘secret’ and ‘manifest’ a better tomorrow, for example. Those philosophies don’t work in the real world when you are faced with impossible odds.”

“One benefit of this experience is that you can now more easily spot New Age bull. Well written New Age prose may feel wonderful and inspiring, like a sugar high, but so much of it is myth and pure escapism.”

“Hey, our apologies if that sounds harsh, but fate is fate, unalterable, and much in life isn’t so pleasant. It can’t be avoided by New Age snake-oil solutions, no matter how much they inspire you.”

“However, as you know by now, you can view life’s challenges in a way that makes them more bearable; accept what you can’t change and view them as a necessary part of life. Things aren’t going as you had planned, but a year from now you’ll be through with the bulk of it. Hang in there!”

Unfortunately, our friend, like many others, found that when life (i.e., personal fate) deals you an impossible hand, it makes popular New Age solutions like “manifest anything you want” appear frivolous and disingenuous.

While we appreciate inspiration rooted in reality and the idea of constantly striving toward your goals, it’s important to avoid getting caught up in spiritual hype because it can make you feel like a failure or worse.

Irreversible personal adversity, the really hard stuff in your life, is a reality for everyone at some point or another. The best approach is usually to deal with it head-on, compassionately and assertively. You are stronger than you realize. Accept what you can’t change, like others’ behavior, change what you can, and be grateful for the opportunity for growth because it’s largely the trials in life that make you the person you are destined to become.

Elephant is an Elephant–Personal Fate is Set in Stone

Share Button

We applaud those who get inspired, think positively, and work hard to create the life they want. Hopefully, they are realistic and their desires and expectations are part of their destined path so that their efforts will make their dreams come true.

As we’ve outlined previously, through much comprehensive empirical research* since 1992, we’ve come to understand that you can’t cheat fate and avoid predestined events and circumstances in your life.

Yes, everyone has free will to think positively, be inspired, make the most of their destiny, and react to fate, but this doesn’t change fate in the present life. It only helps to deal with it better.

Many “experts” saying that nothing in life is predestined reminds us of the famous parable of the blind men and the elephant. It displays what results from a limited and cursory perspective.

In this story there are six men who are blind. Together they encounter an elephant for the first time and each gives his analysis of the creature. Their interpretations are based on the particular part of the elephant they happen to touch.

The first blind man touches the animal’s sturdy side and says the elephant is like a wall.

The second blind man feels the elephant’s sharp tusk and declares the elephant to be like a great spear.

The third blind man grabs the trunk and, with positive authority, announces that elephants are like snakes.

The fourth blind man slides his hands along the elephant’s knee and says that clearly an elephant can be best described as a tree.

The fifth blind man examines the elephant’s waving ear, and is convinced that the elephant is some sort of fan.

The sixth blind man grasps the elephant’s swinging tail and claims that an elephant is like a rope.

Each is partly right since they made contact with one part of the whole. However, they are all wrong because in their blindness they failed to comprehend the creature in its entirety.

*Our objective study and long-term application of a great many cyclical timing methods including those of comprehensive predictive numerology and astrology (other than simple modern numerological cycles and modern astrological non-continuous cycles such as transits and progressions) regularly and constantly have displayed to us that personal fate is measurable.

New Age Spirituality: Idealism vs. Realism

Share Button

We certainly appreciate the value of inspirational messages that are rooted in truth. However, at the present time, an over-abundance of spiritual misinformation is flooding the metaphysical market by those whom we call the New Age Cheerleaders.

They’re usually well-meaning, but denying the reality that adversity is an unavoidable part of everyone’s life, that it has a divine purpose, and instead  promoting false promises is a disservice to consumers. Ultimately, a lot of the excitement and hype only serves to increase book sales and seminar profits and can do more damage than good.

Throughout the past 20 plus years of being involved in the self-help, New Age, and metaphysical industry, we’ve seen it time and time again: participants of inspirational seminars and devotees of rosy passages in best-selling “spiritual” books grab hold of the false claims that the “experts” offer (“the perfect relationship and infinite abundance are right around the corner for you—it’s your birthright!”) and end up being disappointed after all the hype has faded. Too many “experts” claim, “…you can ‘create’ whatever you want and be whatever you want.” Based on our extensive research, we’ve found this to be false.

Further popular myths in the New Age movement include the following: “The era we are in is more ‘potent’ than ever. Therefore, we are more able, than ever before, to create what we want–we can have it all;” “We are moving from a time of ‘cause and effect’ to a time of ‘resonant causation,’ which means that we can now create whatever we want through the power of intent;” “It’s possible to dodge the karma you don’t feel like dealing with through the power of forgiveness;” “Astrology and numerology aren’t applicable to those who have increased their vibration through love and wisdom.”

Many of the Cheerleaders claim that fate doesn’t exist or that it is only applicable for select parts of life. In our opinion, they lack the right to deny the theory of destined life conditions until they first disprove the predictive sciences of numerology and astrology.

Hypothesis or theory can’t be proven, it can only be invalidated. Numerology and astrology have yet to be shown scientifically invalid. In order to accomplish this, two things are necessary: long-term, objective observation of the circumstances in the lives of many people and extensive personality and predictive work involving these ancient sciences.

Until then, the Cheerleaders are denying a more than 2000 year esoteric tradition (which has been wrongfully dishonored by the world’s organized religions–one of the greatest spiritual injustices in recorded history–and greatly distorted by the 17th/18th century Age of Reason/Rationalism) involving the prediction of life circumstances through numerology and astrology. In doing so and promoting their baseless promises of the power to “create” anything anyone wants and erase life challenges, they lead astray those seeking wisdom.

However trendy it is these days to reject the idea of predestination (events that are unavoidable), our research shows that fated circumstances (rewarding and challenging) are part of everyone’s life. Since 1992 we’ve scrutinized the numerology and astrology charts, and observed the representative circumstances (past and present) of thousands of people. Furthermore, whether a person believes in karma and fate or not, they are still bound by it, as we constantly witness.

Once you see, as we have, the constant repetition of numerological and astrological patterns entirely corresponding to circumstances in peoples’ lives, it is easy to stop rejecting the concept of fate.

Furthermore, though we are grateful for our guides and angels in spirit form and regularly work with Archangels, just because certain information feels good, is quoted by someone famous, or is “channeled” doesn’t mean it’s true for this dimension.

Additionally, the so-called divine messages of many popular metaphysical teachings too often get distorted through the human filters called the ego-self and conscious mind. The “I made millions/cured my disease/met the perfect mate; you can do it too!” messages beg for provisions such as, “…however, it may not be your karma and fate to accomplish what I did, so I can’t guarantee the same success I’ve had…”

We respectfully and compassionately would like to remind New Age inspirational authors and speakers that fate, dharma, and karma must be included in New Age communications (even if they are just indirectly alluded to). Otherwise, as we’ve seen, fictional inspirational communications can unfortunately send people down the primrose path of illusion and leave them utterly disappointed, not to mention further discredit the New Age movement.

Instead of misleading people into thinking they can erase their tough karma and create anything they want, we feel more emphasis should be placed on the following philosophy: much of life is karmic and fated, the “good” and the “bad,” there’s no avoiding what is meant to be, but there’s good news: you have free will to react the way you choose to your life’s predestined events and make the most of your time here on earth.

What exactly is the benefit of working with predictive numerology, astrology, and past life regression aside from constantly seeing fate in action? The benefits include self-knowledge, spiritual growth through awareness, wisdom, the ability to plan for the future, the understanding that order exists in the universe and that there are no victims, that life is void of randomness, and that there is meaning to everyone’s life.

In doing so, you’ll also find that the ancient mystics and Gnostics were right: Fate cannot be cheated, but it can be viewed in a way that makes life a heck of a lot easier.

Why do we repeat what we do about destiny and free will over and over? We feel these ideas are very valuable and that it’s our duty to share this sacred information and to expose New Age myths and misleading practices.

We want to share what we and multitudes of mystics throughout history have found as truth because with awareness comes clarity, and with clarity comes a more rewarding life.
