12 Psychic Myths Many People Believe

Share Button

We’ve encountered many myths about psychic readings over the years. It’s not surprising there’s so much misinformation and fiction related to metaphysical readings; sometimes the practitioners are to blame.

Below are twelve psychic myths based on our over 30 years of experience with the subject.

Psychics know everything.

This is where some psychics get into trouble. They allow their followers and clients to assume they know everything, and then lose respect when they don’t. A very famous psychic let this happen to her. She died a few years ago with a bad reputation because of it.

Being psychic doesn’t mean you know everything. It’s like watching TV. Just because you’re tuned into one channel doesn’t mean you know everything that’s happening on every channel at every moment.

No psychic is 100% accurate 100% of the time.

Sometimes a reader won’t perceive something because you’re not supposed to know it.

Also, regarding questions like “What is he thinking?” or “Does she like me?”, it’s not your right to violate anyone’s privacy and pry into their mind.

Psychics can erase karma.

No one can erase another person’s karma. You must balance it yourself by experiencing whatever is related to it.

Psychics can bring a lover back or stop divorce.

No, they can’t, and if someone tells you they can they’re lying or delusional. If it’s over, it’s over. Using love spells for this is spiritual manipulation and black magic, and will create negative karma for you and the psychic.

Psychics can tell you if your partner cheated.

Some might be able to, but your relationship may not be worth saving if you have to ask a stranger such a question.

Psychics can predict the big lottery jackpot numbers.

Maybe if you’re destined to win, but you probably aren’t, so they won’t be able to perceive the numbers for you.

Only psychics are psychic.

Everyone has some degree of psychic ability. You can increase yours to a degree through regular meditation. Meditation will help you relax, focus, and become more aware of the answers to your questions.

You can alter your destiny.

Some psychics claim, “Nothing is set in stone.” We’ve found that most major events in everyone’s life are predestined. You then have free will to react to them.

Psychics tap into demonic energy and should be avoided, along with all other non-religious spiritual practices.

Psychic work, tarot cards, astrology, numerology, channeling, and other metaphysical practices are not demonic or negative by themselves. However, it is possible to tap into dark energy, with or without metaphysics, if you don’t know how to protect yourself.

Because of this, we recommend visualizing yourself surrounded in white Light, asking for protection and guidance from guides of the Light and your God, avoiding drugs and negative people, and avoiding black magic or similar dark energy rituals.

Only experienced mediums can communicate with the dead.

The loss of a loved one is always difficult. It’s only natural to want to contact them and continue communication.

We believe loved ones who cross over do check in from time to time with those they left behind, are there for you when you need them, and frequently try to help.

The trouble is, however, most of us are not conditioned at an early age to be open to or identify communication from the other side. Most people miss the signs.

In our experience, people who are spiritually sensitive can perceive communication from the other side. For everyone else, daily meditation can help you be more receptive to such insight, as will accepting that your loved ones who crossed over can hear you, and want to help.

Reincarnation and karma are not related or that important.

A good psychic understands that you can’t have one without the other, how much they influence your current life (a lot), and that accepting these theories is empowering through personal responsibility.

Your soul mates are mainly for romance.

Everyone has many soul mates and most of them are for spiritual growth. Anyone who says otherwise needs to stop reading so many romance novels.

Astrology and numerology are only about possibilities.

Once you move beyond the superficiality of modern astrology (e.g., horoscopes, exclusive focus on transits, solar returns, etc.), into comprehensive charting using ancient methodologies, you escape the “only possibilities” nonsense and start to identify “here it comes” predestined life events and circumstances.

Reincarnation–9 Signs You Have Not Lived Before

Share Button

Have you lived previous lives? About two-thirds of the world’s population believes in reincarnation. Disbelievers reject the concept of reincarnation, though how many of them have investigated the concept objectively?

The “I’m just a hunk of meat with a brain– no soul” types (typically atheists) completely ignore, or aren’t even aware of, the important reincarnation research done by Dr. Ian Stevenson and other professionals in the field.

Are you skeptical about reincarnation? Good, because that’s better than automatically rejecting or embracing a concept about which you’re not fully informed.

The more you objectively explore the theory of reincarnation, especially through past life regression, the more it becomes harder not to at least consider it as a possibility. You can’t bring back physical proof from past life regression, but sometimes what you perceive, your emotional reactions, and what seem like strange coincidences during and after the experience, will make proving it seem insignificant.

However, even people who believe in reincarnation, even when it’s a basic tenet of their religion, don’t always live their life as if it is valid. It’s unfortunate, because if they did, there would be a lot less crime and people hurting other people in the world.

Does everyone reincarnate? It seems likely, based on our empirical research, but we’re not ruling out the possibility that some people on Earth are not in the usual cycle of reincarnation, for various reasons.

For those who refuse to even consider that the concept of reincarnation might be valid, below is a list of 10 signs you’ve never reincarnated.

1) You’ve never had any natural and unexplainable talents or interests.

2) You’ve never had any unexplainable phobias or fears.

3) You’ve never experienced unexplainable and intense love, hate, like, or dislike at first sight.

4) All your family and work relationships are perfectly harmonious and always have been from the start.

5) You are not naturally drawn to or repulsed by any particular time period, food, tradition, religion, and, or country for no obvious reason.

6) You’ve never been to a city or building for the first time and experienced deja vu and knew your way around.

7) You’ve never had any dreams of being in a different body or speaking a different language in a different time and place.

8) You never felt passionate about a certain cause for no logical reason. Or, you’re not an advocate of animal rights, the poor, women’s rights, or racial or sexual orientation equality, that angrily and sometimes intolerantly, hypocritically and unfairly fights for your cause. Ironically, these unreasonable types see the world as they are, not as it is, and were the type of person in a past life that they point their finger at today. Note: we are grateful and have great respect for those who work fairly, peacefully, and diplomatically for equal rights for all and for those who crusade to make this world a better place.

9) You’ve experienced past life regression more than once, suspended your skepticism enough to allow the process to work, and followed all the directions of the practitioner or MP3, yet you did not perceive anything at all, during or after the experience, that might indicate you soul has lived before.

Did you agree with all of these? If so, go ahead and behave as if you will not be held accountable for your actions. After all, there’s no such thing as reincarnation and karma, right?

“Whether or not we believe in survival of consciousness after death, reincarnation, and karma, it has very serious implications for our behavior.” Stanislav Grof

Examples of Past Life Suffering That Led to Happy Love Lives Today Part I

Share Button

The theory of reincarnation suggests your past life actions create your present love life situations, both the good and the bad.

People who don’t like their love lives now might be making up for their actions in the distant past, but not always. Sometimes, even the best intentions in past lives can result in unfortunate experiences in future lives. This is part of soul growth.

Likewise, people with a rewarding love life today may have earned it in past lives. Below are examples of past life suffering that led to happy love lives.

Love Isn’t Ownership

After ten years of marriage with the man whom she thought was the love of her life, she caught him cheating with the help in their barn. She banished him from her life and remained angry and alone the rest of her long life.

After death, on the other side, she realized that she caused her own suffering with her expectations, demands, and rigid personality.

Today she understands the importance of forgiveness and accepts that many people are not the strictly monogamous type, love is not about owning or controlling another person, and love and sex are two separate things. Her partners in this life have respected and loved her even more when she encouraged them to honestly discuss their attractions to others rather than suppressing them and cheating.

Complete On His Own

He lost his “everything,” his “other half,” at a young age. He had other opportunities for love, but refused them and was lonely and unhappy the rest of his life.

After death, he realized that everyone has many soul mates, you are complete on your own, and while love is forever, most relationships are not.

In this life he’s loved and lost, but accepts it as a part of life. He understands that he doesn’t need someone else to be happy, and remains optimistic and open to future possibilities.

Freedom Lover

She was forced by her very traditional family at a young age to marry a man she couldn’t stand and was miserable the rest of her life.

In this life she hasn’t had the greatest relationship experiences, but that’s fine with her because she loves being single and the inherent freedom. She can’t understand why someone would want to give that up just to have a relationship, especially if the partner isn’t extremely compatible.

A Loving Divorce

She refused to accept divorce as an option, even though her marriage ended long ago. After her husband left she ruined her life by resenting him with all her energy, driving others away with her bitterness.

In this life, when she and her husband drifted apart after fifteen years of marriage, she was responsible for the two of them parting on very good terms, even having what they joked about as a “loving divorce.”

Finally Free to Enjoy Their Relationship

They were monks together in Asia many centuries ago. They shared a deep, romantic love but could never act on it, which caused them great stress and sorrow.

In the current life, they met in a religious studies class and instantly connected. But this time one is male, the other is female, and both are heterosexual and single, so they are finally free to enjoy what they could not so long ago.

The Truth About Reincarnation

Share Button

Once you understand the truth about reincarnation, after sifting through the myths and misunderstandings, you’ll be surprised how the awareness can improve your quality of life.

Below are nine common questions or arguments about reincarnation and our responses, which are based on over 25 years of past life regression experience.

1) “Only naive people believe in reincarnation.” These famous people who believed in reincarnation probably would have disagreed: Benjamin Franklin, Leonardo da Vinci, Socrates, Plato, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Edgar Allan Poe, and Henry David Thoreau.

2) “There are no scientific studies.” Dr. Ian Stevenson spent over forty years scientifically documenting past life memories of children from all over the world. Skeptics and scholars agree that his more than 3000cases offer the best evidence yet for reincarnation. Dr. Stevenson’s credentials were impeccable. He was a medical doctor and wrote many scholarly papers before beginning paranormal research and was the head of the Department of Psychiatry and a Director of the Division of Personality Studies at the University of Virginia.

3) “Why don’t we remember our past lives?” A memory of all the skills, languages, and knowledge from your previous lives sure would come in handy, wouldn’t it? But remembering all the traumatic and upsetting events would be distracting and prevent you from focusing on what’s most important: your present life and what you’re here to learn. You do have a subconscious memory of everything from this life and previous lives, that’s why you’re naturally good at some things, and have unexplainable fears about others.

4) “Why is reincarnation not in the bible?” Some say it was, but edited out, along with other tenets, for political reasons. According to Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation by Noel Langley, the Byzantine Emperor Justinian (483–565 A.D.) “summoned the Fifth Ecumenical Congress of Constantinople in 553 A.D. to condemn the Platonically inspired writings of Origen.” These writings apparently referenced reincarnation and the pre-existence of the soul.

5) “Why would I have chosen this life or bad experiences?” Your personality didn’t, but your soul did, in order to learn and grow, which is one of the purposes of incarnating.

6) “Everyone says they were a famous figure or wealthy king or queen. It’s all fantasy.” If you experience enough previous lives through past life regression, you realize this isn’t true. You’ll likely perceive yourself as both powerful and powerless, rich and poor, male and female, good and bad, and so on. When someone perceives themselves as a famous person in past life regression (which is rare when the process is done correctly), it usually means they are misinterpreting the past life or their ego is adding to the session. Another possible explanation is that their energy is somehow connected to the energy or consciousness that was once part of the historical figure.

7) “Reincarnation is wishful thinking by people who are afraid of death.” Maybe, but it takes more courage to accept that you have to reincarnate to pay back karma.

8) Reincarnation is an excuse to dodge personal responsibility–they blame things on their past lives.
This might be true for some, but an understanding of reincarnation and karma leads most people to take more responsibility for themselves and their lives. People who think once they die they will cease to exist might not care as much about doing the right thing in all situations. People who believe in reincarnation know that because of karma, everything they do, say, and intend will come back to them. Also, Taking personal responsibility for your life instead of blaming others is empowering.

9) The past doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter until you realize that a subconscious memory of a past life event is negatively influencing your current life. For example, someone who drowned might have an intense fear of being in water. A person who is deathly afraid of flying may have died in a plane crash. Someone who finds it almost impossible to lose weight might have starved to death. Once you re-experience the related past life, the fears usually lessen or disappear.

How do you find out what is valid and what is false? Do your own objective research and eventually you will discover the truth about reincarnation.

Our Direct Your Destiny e-package includes a special audio recording to privately and safely explore your distant past, past lives, and other subconscious memories, plus many other helpful spiritual tools, tips and guidance.

Take This Quiz–How Do You Get to Heaven

Share Button

How do you get to heaven? Will you be turned away? Take this short quiz and find out.

Answer “yes” or “no” if you’ve ever done any of the following: cursed; eaten meat; enjoyed any of the finer things in life, such as designer clothing or expensive meals; used numerology, astrology, tarot cards, or consulted a psychic; listened to and enjoyed music other than religious music; failed to attend religious services on a regular basis; questioned your religious leader; danced in public; been intoxicated; worn clothing that revealed your legs; worn platform heels; worn clothing of the opposite sex; looked at porn; touched yourself in an impure manner; had sex for the purpose of satisfaction rather than reproduction; had sex outside of marriage; had a sexual dream about someone other than your partner; had a homosexual experience; received or fantasized about receiving, either directly or indirectly, money for sex; paid for sex, either directly or indirectly; had an open relationship; divorced.

If you have done any of the above, congratulations! You’re human. None of these actions generate negative karma.

Next, consider if you’ve ever done any of these things: condemned others for being homosexual, bisexual, transgender, or of a different race; lied; cheated; manipulated or intentionally hurt another; stolen something.

These actions directly above, among others, create negative karma and you’ll have to balance it, eventually.

How do you get to heaven? Or for that matter, what about hell? Does it really exist? In all of our past life regression and life-between-life empirical research over the last 25 years, we’ve never seen any evidence of hell.

However, a small percentage of people who have experienced NDEs (near death experiences) have reported they perceived a place that seemed like hell, complete with people being tortured and an evil presence.

Were those people really in hell, and did they not get the “how do you get to heaven” memo?

In our opinion, in each case we’ve seen or read about, it seemed to us that it was a situation where their guides and subconscious mind created an illusion that would help them to straighten out their life, their mind created a vision based on their religious programming, or it was the result of experiencing lower astral planes, sometimes due to a drug overdose or other factors. Interestingly, in many of these cases, when the person yelled out to a higher power, like God, to help them, they immediately left the place that seemed like hell.

Rather than a final destination that’s reserved only for the religious elite, heaven seems to be a temporary place where all souls go after death of the body in order to review, rest, learn, and plan for the next incarnation.

As for the question, “how do you get to heaven,” our findings show that, in general, if you treat others as you want to be treated, you will create positive karma and future experiences that are closer to heaven on earth.

New Age Case Study–You Can’t Avoid Fate And What to do Instead

Share Button

We offered our sympathy when a friend expressed anxiety about a very tough personal situation she was going through. Hearing about her situation reminded us about the futility of attempting to dodge personal fate and adversity.

She said, “Aside from the challenges in my childhood, or maybe because of them, I’ve always managed to power though the tough periods in life. But now I’m going through some really overwhelming things and I’m about at my breaking point, consumed with worry and fear.”

She went on to say, “My ex-husband is in trouble with the IRS, and he’s facing charges for being way behind in child support. Now he’s trying to take full custody of our children because he’s very angry that he had to go to court about child support. He probably won’t win, but he’s playing dirty and it’s costing me a lot of money and my good reputation. He wants to steal my children, move them to another state, and wants me to pay for it!”

“I must have been a very horrible person in a past lifetime because I can see no wisdom in all that’s been happening. Usually I can see the lesson or the wisdom in it. This time I’m truly blind.”

We mentioned that while fate is likely at play, it may also be a case of 1 + 1 = 2 (marrying someone who is not compatible and who has serious personality red flags, which were hidden until it was too late = problems).

We told her that she’s an honorable person now, that’s what matters most, and even if she did keep her kids from her ex in a past life, it’s best not to worry about that now because everyone has been incorrigible in past lives.

She also mentioned that she dabbled in some New Age manifestation techniques (spells) and, “Literally, it blew up in my face and made things worse. ‘Manifesting’ proved to be very dangerous in my case.”

“It’s a given this is a very tough time in your life,” we said, “but as you know, personal fate frequently isn’t logical when viewed from just the perspective of this lifetime. Maybe you’ve been led to believe, by the usual New Age suspects, that you wouldn’t have to endure such pain if you would just believe in the ‘secret’ and ‘manifest’ a better tomorrow, for example. Those philosophies don’t work in the real world when you are faced with impossible odds.”

“One benefit of this experience is that you can now more easily spot New Age bull. Well written New Age prose may feel wonderful and inspiring, like a sugar high, but so much of it is myth and pure escapism.”

“Hey, our apologies if that sounds harsh, but fate is fate, unalterable, and much in life isn’t so pleasant. It can’t be avoided by New Age snake-oil solutions, no matter how much they inspire you.”

“However, as you know by now, you can view life’s challenges in a way that makes them more bearable; accept what you can’t change and view them as a necessary part of life. Things aren’t going as you had planned, but a year from now you’ll be through with the bulk of it. Hang in there!”

Unfortunately, our friend, like many others, found that when life (i.e., personal fate) deals you an impossible hand, it makes popular New Age solutions like “manifest anything you want” appear frivolous and disingenuous.

While we appreciate inspiration rooted in reality and the idea of constantly striving toward your goals, it’s important to avoid getting caught up in spiritual hype because it can make you feel like a failure or worse.

Irreversible personal adversity, the really hard stuff in your life, is a reality for everyone at some point or another. The best approach is usually to deal with it head-on, compassionately and assertively. You are stronger than you realize. Accept what you can’t change, like others’ behavior, change what you can, and be grateful for the opportunity for growth because it’s largely the trials in life that make you the person you are destined to become.

When to Keep Quiet About Your Metaphysical Beliefs

Share Button

Long gone are the days when someone could easily be committed to a mental institution, or worse, simply for speaking up about their ability to perceive auras, past lives, or the future. Thank God. More and more people are receptive to metaphysical subjects, but still, you need to watch what you say. Not everyone will understand, and some will even use the information against you.

Friends and Acquaintances

It’s likely you have friends who are involved with metaphysics if you are too. However, for those who aren’t, remember that it’s not necessary for all friends to have the same beliefs. Accept your differences and respect that they might not want to hear about the ghost in your new home.

Family

The non-believers in your family likely already think your metaphysical beliefs are crazy, so there’s no point in trying to convince them of your viewpoint. Try not to judge them for judging you. They are who they are and it’s okay to have a different viewpoint. Even if they are rude, be the adult and let it go. If they bring up the subject, it’s usually best to keep it brief rather than launch into a detailed description of how grandma visited you after her death. After they die they’ll realize you were on to something, but in the meantime avoid conflict by surrendering any desire to change their thinking.

Occasionally saying a few words about various goings on from a spiritual standpoint is harmless, and will at least make you feel like your voice is not totally shut down. If you’re lucky enough to have a receptive relative with whom you can discuss metaphysical subjects, save it for them.

Coworkers and Your Employer

Caution about sharing your views with coworkers. Even an innocent conversation about your past life visions of you and your coworkers as slaves on a plantation in 1753 could come back to whip your ass. Keep your visions to yourself unless a coworker is as metaphysically inclined, and even then it’s usually better to say only what you’d say in front of the entire staff, including your boss. Make sure to use your metaphysical talents to your great advantage in the workplace, covertly (and for the highest good of all involved, of course), to protect yourself and improve your job performance.

Dating

Hold your tongue for the first few dates if you think there may be chemistry and compatibility, and after that tread carefully. Your metaphysical interests are only a small part of who you are, and it would be a shame for a potential love interest to drop you in the very early stages of a relationship just because they don’t understand.

On the other hand, if they are rigidly closed off to even the most universally accepted metaphysical concepts, and insist that your convictions are “wrong,” this may not be a match made in heaven. If you find yourself on a date with someone you’d rather not spend time with again, speak your mind and pour it on! They will likely do you the favor of discontinuing the interaction.

Strangers You Encounter

Let your freak flag fly around strangers, especially those you’ll likely never see again! We’re not recommending that you act radically or anti-social, but you may find yourself occasionally giving spontaneous, important messages to strangers, just what they need to hear at the time, and not even realize the importance of what you’ve said and the impact it made. You might serve them perfectly and even plant an important seed of insight that stays with them for years.

Follow the advice above and you’ll have greater peace of mind and suffer less strife in your personal and professional relationships.

Reincarnation: The Past Lives of 12 Celebrities

Share Button

After employing past life regression techniques for our own benefit and others for over 20 years, we frequently perceive spontaneous flashes of insight related to past lives without having to do a formal regression.

How do we know the insight is authentic? We cannot bring forth related physical evidence, of course, but what we perceive to be authentic past life recall tends to be accompanied by strong emotion and seems very fitting after giving it some thought.

Below are what we have perceived to be select past lives of celebrities.

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were black singers and entertainers in the 1940s and 1950s. They worked hard and were very talented, but were overlooked in part, due to their skin color. This life is a reward for them in terms of career success.

Madonna actually was Eva Peron, the woman she portrayed in Evita. Actors are drawn to roles they’ve lived in past lives. Also, in a different lifetime, Madonna was likely the opposite of her current persona: in a position of religious power, she condemned those who expressed their sexuality. Part of her dharma in this lifetime was to help reverse the damage that she inflicted upon society with her narrow-minded views.

Leonardo DiCaprio was a noble who was unjustly imprisoned to solitary confinement, and had other related lifetimes where he wasn’t allowed to live or enjoy life. All he could do was daydream away the pain, about what could be, which helped lead him to where he is in this life.

Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones had many, many incarnations as a laboring musician who always worked hard, developing his iron will and thirst for success, which finally earned the good karma involving this lifetime. Our impression is that there was also a recurring theme of being incarcerated or otherwise restricted, and this lifetime involves over-balancing in the other direction–abuse of freedom, sensual gratification, and excess.

Brad Pitt was a wild west gun-slinger and bank robber.

Robert Downy Jr was a 1920s silent film star. Early death due to over-indulgence.

Drew Barrymore was also a star in silent films.

Shirley MacLaine worked against the belief of reincarnation in a past life as Empress Theodora (or someone a lot like her), who in 451 A.D., influenced the removal of all references to reincarnation from the Bible. Fortunately, in this life she has made up for that by going public, “Out on a Limb,” with her spiritual experiences and beliefs.

Tina Turner has had many, many lifetimes where she developed her personal power to a tremendous degree almost like a sorceress, wielding magic. We sense very strong spiritual power like that of an adept, well beyond the typical entertainer.

Any outspoken, ill-informed, biased celebrity (take your pick) who mainly complains and attacks rather than offering any solid, rational solutions or using their position of power for good. Projection is their game and the targets of their wrath are mirrors for how they were in past lives. The louder someone complains about something, the more likely it is they were a trouble-maker on the opposing side in past lives.

Donald Trump and President Clinton were French Royalty, possibly during the Renaissance. President Clinton was extravagant, as was common in those times for royalty, and Mr. Trump was a successful merchant.

How are your past lives influencing your present life? Even if you interpret them as subconscious metaphors, past life exploration can go a long way toward self-discovery.

Absolute Myth: Your Personality Selects Your Future Lives

Share Button

New Age urban legend suggests that you’re empowered through “ascension” to consciously manipulate your past lives and future lives to live happily ever after in a never-ending utopia without any personal adversity.

All you have to do is spend enough money on the services of the gurus who spew such nonsense, excuse us, who divine such information, and you’ll be on your way to permanent bliss.

Unfortunately, the idea of consciously selecting your future lives like entrees from a dinner menu is just a New Age myth. This distortion of ancient spiritual truths originates from a heavy emphasis on Hollywood science fiction masquerading as spirituality, and possibly narcotics, including psychedelics; artificially altered minds yield half-truths and illusion.

Talk of “altering your density” and “3rd, 4th, 5th dimensions” as if they are TV channels for you to consciously flip through on your way to nirvana, for instance, is pure fantasy. Such myths are kept alive through the strong desire for escapism and quick-fix solutions.

The feel-good fantasies are an attempt to avoid personal accountability. “I’ll never have to pay for that appalling crime? Great, I’m in!”

Not so fast.

3 Reasons You Can’t Consciously Choose Your Past and Present Lives:

1. Your conscious mind is not your spiritual self, your soul. These are two different entities and once you cross over your personality does not have a say in your soul’s direction. While you may consciously think you want to choose the most desirable future life circumstances, your soul, like a loving parent guiding a child, frequently takes the road that holds the most important lessons with the most opportunity for spiritual growth; it usually does not favor the easy life, based on our empirical research involving past and future life regression.

2. Karma follows you like an ever-faithful servant. It’s inescapable, even if your current personality doesn’t believe in the concept. Consider it one of the most important spiritual laws: whatever you say, do, or intend comes back to you in equal measure. Exude compassion and understanding? That’s what you get back. Thieve and cheat? That’s also what you get back.

By the way, one of the biggest misconceptions about karma is that you get it all back in this lifetime. We’ve found the opposite to be true: most of it comes back to you in future lives. This explains why some of the most notorious villains seem to live their lives untouched, at least until the next time around when they are born into unfortunate conditions. Even if it seemed like someone got away with something, they really didn’t.

3. Past lives make you who you are today. While it may be true that when you are on the other side you can view your past and future like clips from a movie, you can’t alter what has already transpired, nor would your soul-self even desire to do so. While forgiveness might soften up karma, it doesn’t erase it, and you can’t dodge your future karma (good and bad) no matter how much you try to make amends after the fact.

Is there a way to assure that you are more fortunate in future lives? The only way you can consciously direct your destiny is to simply do the “right” thing in every situation. By this we do not mean what is necessarily correct or proper as deemed by society. Instead, simply treat others as you would like to be treated, and maintain an honorable life.

Additionally, we believe that accepting where you are now, being grateful for what you have rather than excessive wanting for what you don’t, and repetitive, emotionalized positive visualizations, such as those involving financial and romantic abundance, help you attract more of that in future lives. Of course, you also have to take appropriate action toward your goals.

Everything you are and will ever be, you have earned. When in doubt, taking the high road is always your best option, striving to express more compassion and unconditional love.

Old Soul Quiz: Are You Passing Your Tests?

Share Button

Are you an old soul? The term is commonly used to describe someone mature beyond their years, or spiritually defined as someone who has lived many, many lives.

However, our many years of past life regression research has shown us that there are younger souls who are just as or more spiritually aware as the so-called older souls; being an older soul could be, in many cases, that it’s taken them a lot longer to learn their lessons. Just because you’ve gone through the motions of attending class and enduring exams doesn’t mean you’ve done well in school.

For the purpose of this article, we’ll refer to an older soul as someone who is wiser than average. Their wisdom and spiritual awareness is the result of mastering many challenges in difficult past lives.

Note: Just as a senior in high school is not guaranteed to be smarter than a freshman simply because of the age difference, being an old soul doesn’t make you superior to someone who hasn’t progressed as far along. While past lives are important because they can greatly affect your current life, what matters most are your actions now, in this life. Besides, how far along a soul is on the path to completing the karmic circle is less important when you realize we’re all in this together.

We have found that it’s fairly easy to spot an older or younger soul by their actions (not their words). Choose your first response (Agree 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Disagree) to the following to consider your spiritual progress.

1) You think only of yourself and do what’s best for you when dealing with others, no matter what their needs or the consequences.

2) You tend to be a follower, even in situations where “doing the right thing” would require you to lead.

3) You don’t question potentially harmful social norms, customs, and traditions and prefer to just comply to societal standards.

4) You don’t strive to be honest with yourself and others 100% of the time.

5) You are more likely to take the easy way out instead of paying your dues now so you can be rewarded later.

6) You don’t do the “right thing” when you can get away with it and doing otherwise benefits you.

7) In an argument or debate, you are less likely to rely on facts or what’s best (ultimately, not immediately) for all involved, and more likely to let your emotions rule and focus on how you or your group have been wronged in the past.

8) It’s difficult for you to put yourself in another person’s position and understand their viewpoint.

9) You feel no guilt when you hurt someone, especially if they don’t find out.

10) If someone wrongs you, you are likely to retaliate to even the score.

11) You fully attribute your insights to mental faculty and believe that the idea of intuition or psychic ability is foolish.

12) You accept and strictly follow a traditional religion, and shun those who aren’t of your faith.

13) You identify 100% with your gender and believe those who don’t need psychiatric help.

14) You don’t think it’s possible to be born gay or bi.

15) You believe you are your body and mind and the soul is not significant, or is non-existent.

16) You don’t think that past lives matter and you don’t believe in karma.

17) You identify 100% with your race and don’t accept that you’ve been other races in past lives or that your body, including skin color, is just a temporary home for your soul, who you really are.

18) It’s difficult for you to imagine what it’s like to be of a different race.

19) You hate spending time alone.

20) You believe that there is a lot of injustice in the world.

21) You have a difficult time taking responsibility for your actions.

22) You believe that the world owes you.

As you probably figured out, the higher you scored, the more likely it is, generally, that you are a wiser soul. We base our theories on the findings of our long-term empirical research. Again, how “old” you are is much less important than doing the “right thing,” even when no one is looking.

By the way, you may be wondering why we didn’t cover status, money or appearance. We believe it’s a myth that if someone is an old soul they naturally don’t care about such things; how one treats others when they have prominence, wealth, or beauty is much more revealing about a soul’s progress.
