Booze, Drugs, and Spirituality

Marijuana is now legal in several states in the USA and other states may follow suit.

Many of the news stories about the American weed revolution compare pot to alcohol.

The pro-pot people say it’s less harmful than alcohol.

On the surface, pot does seem to help one relax and be more creative. What’s the harm in that?

But going deeper, we don’t believe smoking pot is as harmless as some claim. Few people discuss the toxic side effects we’ve noticed: it distorts your perception, interferes with your peace of mind, blocks mental clarity, and saps your energy. The same is true, we believe, for excess alcohol consumption.

For example, we’ve noticed that if we have more than a couple drinks, even only once a week, the toxic effects make it more difficult to perceive ourselves, others, and situations clearly. We’re also less focused, centered, and our overall feeling of wellness decreases.

When we smoked pot in junior and senior years of high school and the first couple years of college, we noticed thehead-in-the-sky side effect was much worse, for at least two weeks afterwards, and included feelings of laziness, depression, and anxiety. We lost that naturally happy and light feeling. It also seemed to block our intuition and usually took us at least three weeks to feel truly clear-headed again.

Some people have a stronger physical body than average and have a higher tolerance for drugs and alcohol. But whether they notice it or not, we believe everyone experiences the side effects we mention above, and there can be a deeper negative impact for people with weaker than average defenses, physically and, or spiritually.

Note: Although we recommend avoiding drugs and excess alcohol, we aren’t prohibitionists. Our position is decriminalization, yet heavy penalties for driving while under the influence or other careless and, or destructive behavior.

We believe in personal freedom, yet also absolute personal accountability. Go ahead and do what you want, but we hope you realize it’s difficult to be your best when you handicap yourself with drugs and booze. You don’t want to have to repeat your lessons again because you failed to remain clean and relatively sober, do you? The karma you incur by harming yourself and, or others is a burden you should strive to avoid.

Some spiritual gurus advocate tripping on certain drugs for a “spiritual awakening” (e.g., taking psychedelic drugs on a “vision quest”). We strongly recommend you avoid doing this. Aside from the likelihood that the insight you perceive will be distorted, drugs and excess alcohol can open the door for devious or even demonic entities, many of whom relish creating havoc in your life and are experts at avoiding detection. They can even convince you that the drug or drink is not negatively influencing you or your life.

What to do Instead

It’s natural to want to relax and escape the stresses of life. How can you do this without relying on drugs or excess booze? Learn to meditate, and do it regularly! If you’ve been partying for years, and especially if your diet isn’t very healthy, it will take you some time to cut through the haze. But daily exercise and meditation can leave you feeling far better than booze or any drug, with no side effects, and you’ll also reap the many benefits of heightened self-awareness and intuition.

7 Reasons Atheists May Want to Reconsider

Atheists don’t believe in God for various reasons, and they should be allowed to believe what they want. Religious freedom is a wonderful thing.

However, it’s our belief that some atheists base their viewpoint on misunderstandings.

Here are seven common convictions atheists hold, our thoughts, and why they may want to reconsider.

“There is no heaven or afterlife.” Based on many Near Death Experiences or NDEs (such as described in videos on Youtube and in the books Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife by Eben Alexander III M.D., and To Heaven and Back: A Doctor’s Extraordinary Account of Her Death, Heaven, Angels, and Life Again: A True Story by Mary C. Neal MD) of religious people of various faiths, atheists, and agnostics, they all experienced an afterlife. Also, their faith or lack of one made little difference in whether they made it through the white Light light tunnel and to the other side. Therefore, according to the well-documented history of NDEs, the belief that “You can’t get into heaven if you don’t believe in God” is false.

This is an example of how many religions, over many centuries, have unintentionally, and sometimes intentionally, distorted spiritual messages. If you strip away and avoid what we believe is religious dogma, as we do in our many articles, the message is sometimes very different.

“There is no proof that anything beyond the physical world exists.” Atheists tend not to believe in ghosts, spirit communication, reincarnation, or any kind of life force. Atheists try toattribute divine guidance (information appearing at the doorstep of your consciousness) as just another function of the brain, as if you’re only a hunk of flesh and a brain with no connection to anythingnon-physical. While there is no physical proof of reincarnation, countless people possess anecdotal evidence, such as describing during a past life regression a centuries-old home, including a verifiable address, in a country they’ve never visited.

Also, many people have received communication from spirits and ghosts through mediums such as The Long Island Medium who routinely gives accurate, unexplainable-by-conventional-science psychic insight from souls who have crossed over.

It is not surprising atheists don’t believe in such things because they tend to either block their spiritual side or simply not be very spiritually sensitive like some people are who regularly perceive ghosts or receive insight from spirit guides and other spiritual helpers.

You could compare skeptics attacking those who embrace the spiritual realm to demanding proof that love exists. Try telling a mother the love she has for her child is all in her head, that it’s not real. Who is the joker? The talented psychic or the skeptic?

“There is too much evil in the world for a God to exist.” Atheists believe that if there really were a God, he or she would not allow so much evil. Our perspective is that people do evil things, and God cannot control people because they have free will. Humans reincarnate to use their free will, within the boundaries of their destiny, in order to learn and grow spiritually and life’s challenges offer the most opportunity.

Also, just as there is light and dark, day and night, hot and cold, and love and hate, we believe, based on our many years of experience with spirit possession, that dark and even demonic energy does exist in this world. Humans have free will to investigate it, learn about it, and then protect themselves from it, but most people don’t.

“Faith is unreliable.” Sometimes it seems that God pulls through for you, and sometimes not. Atheists don’t believe a God would be so inconsistent. Yet, there’s a reason why praying doesn’t always provide the results you seek: fate and karma. You can pray and believe all you want, but if something is not meant to happen due to your personal fate and karma, it won’t.

“Many religious people behave immorally.” While this may be true, there are many religious people who don’t.

“There are so many different religions and gods with different characteristics that it renders religion overall as baseless.” If you examine the world’s religions more closely, you’ll find that most of them have similar themes.

“There isn’t a valid reason to believe.” We don’t believe it’s necessary to believe in God to live an honorable life, but we absolutely accept some of the tenets that go along with such a belief, such as treating others as you want to be treated, being honest, and personal responsibility.

Religious people have an added incentive to behave, but as long as you treat others well, we believe that your religious views or lack of any are secondary to being an upstanding human being.

Beware of These 10 Types of Demons Part II

Are there different kinds of demons, and are demons even real? Yes, based on our experience of clearing places and people of dark energy for more than 13 years, we believe so. We didn’t believe in demonic energy prior to our findings, but we now believe that both positive and negative energies exist in the universe, and that there are different entities associated with both sides. In this article, we explore different types of demons and why they target different types of people and situations.

Sexual Orientation Demons

Based on our empirical research, we believe that sexual orientation, like many characteristics, begins with the soul before birth. However, we also believe there exist demons that encourage gay sex as a way of breaking down some heterosexuals, or even gay or bi people who are uncomfortable with their orientation. We believe this to be particularly true if they are abusing alcohol, using drugs, or have great shame and fear about sex due to a strict religious upbringing.

Then there are those who believe homosexuality is a sin and rally against gays, and even gays who are biased against straight people. Any sort of strong prejudice, especially when it leads to a polarized political issue (i.e., gay marriage), which leads to more strife and chaos, we believe can involve demons. The universal demon motto seems to be, “The worse the anger, chaos, and division among people, the better.”

Bad Mood Demons

Everyone has occasional challenging days or longer periods in their lives. It’s easy to become pessimistic when things aren’t going well, but always try to look on the bright side and keep your energy and that imaginary (or real, if you so choose) Light up. Imagining yourself protected with a bubble of Light positively impacts your subconscious mind (your subconscious can’t tell the difference between real and imagined) and actually can have a protective impact on your life. Otherwise, letting pessimism grow and not protecting yourself can make your negative energy a beacon for the little demons to come running.

Religious Demons

There are countless good and even saintly religious people in the world. But those who are influenced by religious demons can be far from it. Religious demons are fueled by the guilt, fear and, or shame of their host, and derive great pleasure in convincing their targets to do terrible things. At the very least, religious demons can encourage their targets to be very intolerant in the name of their religion.

Religious demons also target those (e.g., atheists) who express negative sentiment against religion or New Age tenets.

Drug demons

Any street drug or mind altering prescription narcotic will lower your spiritual protective energy and allow dark energy and entities to attach to you or even possess you in extreme cases. Drug demons have a great appreciation for those who use drugs regularly, for they can allow demons to take complete control of their lives. We believe this is a key reason why addicts have such a difficult time overcoming their addiction.

Demon party

Add excessive alcohol and, or drugs to any of the situations above and the target will be certain to be the host of a demon party. Come one, come all; the weaker the host, the more demons jump on board, and the worse off the person becomes, along with those close to him.

What can you do if you think there may be dark energy intruding in your life? The most important way you can guard against any future interference is to always react with unconditional love and compassion instead of anger or fear, even in response to hatred and prejudice. Responding this way, even if it’s only in your mind, will stop the back-and-forth volley of negative energy demons strive to incite.

How to Get What You Deserve in Life

A friend recently told us that he is waking up to the fact that what you think you deserve may not be what you merit, and that it’s a hard lesson to learn.

Although he’s considered successful by almost everyone in his professional and personal life, it was instilled in him early on in his life, and during school, that he deserved the very best. The sky was the limit and he believed it.

Yet as the years went by, he couldn’t break into the six figure salary realm no matter what he did in his career, and his personal life wasn’t free of the challenges that he thought that were beneath him.

In time, as he grew wiser, he realized that his expectations were too high, his income isn’t necessarily a reflection of who he is as a person, and he accepted that what he earns may not equal what he felt he deserved.

Tips to Prevent the Hard Lesson of Finding Out That Getting What You Deserve is Less Than The Best Life Has to Offer

1. Begin to accept that you might very well have exactly what you deserve, at this time. What you think you deserve is your opinion, a completely subjective viewpoint. Set important goals in life, strive every day to achieve them, and know that the journey is often more important than the result.

2. By all means, keep dreaming and dream big, but keep your expectations in check.

The world needs taxi drivers, cooks, construction workers, house-keepers, and other workers. Such professions are as honorable as any other, and your career doesn’t make you more or less equal to anyone; everyone is of the same spiritual essence. How you view your situation can make a significant difference, and in a spiritual sense, things aren’t always as they appear in the mundane world.

For example, someone in a seemingly unimportant job may have an extremely important spiritual role in the lives of people around her. Likewise, someone who society deems a prestigious professional and makes millions per year may be, spiritually speaking, a beginner soul who is not learning his lessons.

3. Accept what you can’t change, but do everything you can to enhance your life and get more of what you want. Develop a detached perspective; do your best to avoid judgment and be grateful for as much as you can in your life.

4. Avoid an excessive sense of entitlement. There is no such thing as inequality. Life is not supposed offer equal outcomes (equal rights and opportunity are another matter).

5. Take glorified inspirational messages in mainstream media and entertainment with a grain of salt, such as the one in the movie “Superman, Man of Steel,” which went something like this: “Superman came to Earth to empower people to rise above all challenges, to become empowered to fulfill their potential and avoid the limits that society places on them.”

Nobody is holding you down, and nobody places limits on you, unless you live in a communist country. Life will always include personal adversity and you have free will to make the most of it.

6. Stop living beyond your means. If you think you deserve the finest life has to offer, you better avoid spending like it unless you have the cash, not credit, to do so. Otherwise, when you find out you don’t deserve the finest life has to offer and lack the cash to pay your bills, you’ll have credit problems.

7. Practice humility, which is spiritual. A humble person never has the shock and disappointment of finding out she’s not the center of the universe, and that she isn’t entitled to what she previously thought.

The good news is that even though you can’t always get what you think you deserve, life becomes more enjoyable when you focus on being grateful for what you have in life instead of what you lack.

The Myth About Vegetarian Diet and Spirituality

It’s common for people in the New Age arena to believe the myth about a vegetarian diet and spirituality, that it’s necessary to become enlightened.

The pro-vegetarianism contention goes something like this: “I am 100% for life and I love animals, so I avoid eating meat. Animals are my friends. Why would you eat your friends? A vegan diet brings more peace and enlightenment to every living being.”

Or, the argument goes like this: “Eating meat is akin to murder. Plus, it’s too heavy; plants are much lighter and better for your body, thus, your spirituality is enhanced on a strict vegetarian diet.”

Never mind that there’s never been a strict vegetarian civilization in the history of the planet that has survived for any length of time.

If it’s true that eating meat is murder, that means that most animals, including humans, are murderers. That bacteria, those cute little micro-organisms you just killed by washing your hands? That makes you a murderer too, as does killing plants, which are also living organisms.

About twenty years ago, we learned firsthand about the myth of a vegetarian diet and spirituality. We avoided animal products for many months. Even though we took a careful approach, including doing internal cleansing along with the diet transition, in time we realized it’s a dysfunctional diet for our body type.

A strict vegetarian diet brings you closer to God all right–it decimates your health if you stay on it long enough. It saps your energy, makes you vitamin deficient (e.g., vitamin a, and b-vitamins), and eventually, makes most people look and feel unhealthy.

It was very telling how much energy we had, bouncing off the walls, when we first had a vitamin b-12 supplement, after not having animal products for a long time–we were vitamin b-12 deficient. Unfortunately, supplements and toxic substances like processed, unfermented soy aren’t good, long-term substitutes for the nutrition your body needs.

The concept of a vegetarian diet and spirituality has been warped beyond recognition, in our view.

Don’t get us wrong, we do believe short-term vegetarianism can be very healthy, such as doing a vegetable juice fast for a while. We’ve done three week herbal cleanses (no meat or animal products, no starches, etc.) that we believe have been very helpful for detoxification and our overall health.

Dr. Mercola of mercola.com advocates a vegan-rich diet, along with free-range, chemical-free meats. He claims that only less than 30% of the population has the body type that tolerates strict vegetarianism, or veganism. We believe it may be lower than 30%, based on our observations. Even those who say, “I had my blood-work done, it shows I’m fine,” may be fine for now, but the longer you avoid vitamin rich animal products, the more likely your health may suffer.

Here’s a video from a former vegetarian who speaks of the dangers of a strict vegan diet. She says that after a year of an approximately 95% vegan diet, she felt great, but then her health began to decline.

It’s astonishing how many people buy into the vegetarian diet and spirituality myth and erroneously believe it’s more spiritual, when the exact opposite is true for most people.

We’ve meditated regularly and undertaken other spiritual disciplines, such as Reiki, for many years and we can assure you that eating a diet that works for your body, even if it includes animal products, won’t negatively affect your spiritual growth or cause you to incur negative karma.

While it’s true that it’s not easy to meditate and get closer to your God-self (or higher-self, etc.) after eating a huge steak dinner, avoiding meat altogether is likely to negatively affect your health over the long-term.

It’s okay to have believed the falsehood about a strict vegetarian diet and spirituality, but now you should act on the truth.

Freedom From Misery for the Spiritually Sensitive and Empaths–9 Tips

An empath is a highly sensitive person who can feel the emotional and physical states of people around them. This, of course, can be problematic for the individual while walking through crowds or being around people who are in a negative state of mind.

They also have the ability, if they set aside any bias or emotional attachment, to sense truth and the motives of others.

Unfortunately, there are many people who are highly empathic and don’t realize it. They struggle daily with not only their emotions, but those of everyone around them. Some attempt self-medication with alcohol or drugs, or are prescribed drugs, that compound the issue, by doctors who don’t understand the problem.

Thankfully, if you’re an empath, there are other ways to deal with it. Below are things we’ve learned, as empaths, that we must do if we want to feel good on a daily basis.

1) Diet is key. You must be careful about how you fuel your body. Sugar and junk food will affect how you feel more so than other people, so it’s best to avoid it as much as possible. Also, go easy on fruit sugar and make sure you are getting enough quality protein (not non- fermented, processed soy).

2) Regular exercise makes everyone feel better, and it’s especially important for empaths. You don’t need to go to a gym to exercise, of course, and a crowded gym might not be the best place for you.

3) Make sure to schedule alone time to recharge; reading or walks in nature are two good ways. Regular solitude is a healing balm to the spiritually sensitive.

4) Be careful of who you allow in your inner circle. Don’t try to save toxic people.

5) Meditate daily to clear your mind and calm your energy. There are many ways to meditate. For beginners, we recommend just sitting quietly with your eyes closed, and focusing exclusively on your breathing, a mantra, or counting from one to 500.

6) Burn white sage or use other energy clearing and protection methods to keep your space energetically clean. We’ve written other articles about helpful psychic protection tricks. The more you use them, and the more faith and confidence you have in your ability to use them, the more effective they will be.

7) Know that you always have access to spiritual help and protection from the other side. We call upon Arch Angel Michael for clearing and protection often, and there’s no such thing as asking for too much help of him, or other helpful guides and beings of the Light, or God.

8) When you are feeling down, anxious, or otherwise negative, stop, breath, and ask yourself, “Are these feelings from me or someone else?” even if you are alone, you may be picking up other people’s thoughts or energy from many miles away. You have the option to reject outside, negative energy and the right to feel good. Stand your ground and refuse to take on the energy of others. Sometimes you just have to not care.

9) Finally, you need to be aware of the information we’ve shared previously about spirit attachment and possession, which can be more of a problem for empaths. A weakened energy state, due to various reasons such as excess drinking, drugs, or stress, can inadvertently invite toxic energy in the form of stray souls, entities, or even demonic energy, which can greatly interfere with all areas of your life.

It isn’t easy maintaining a balanced state of mind as an empath but following these tips will help you feel better. You’ll also have more energy to use your empathic ability in positive ways, such as being able to understand others’ perspectives acutely well, and offering guidance when appropriate.

The Truth About Enlightenment

Across the globe, it’s very common for spiritual seekers of all types to believe that enlightenment is something that you find through painstaking searching and sacrifice.

Tales of magicians and gurus in distant lands such as Tibet and India entice aspirants to travel abroad for a glimpse of enlightenment.

These beliefs appear to have formed largely due to what we believe to be a corruption of mysticism, an unhealthy emphasis on escapism and fantasy instead of authentic spirituality.

Contrary to popular New Age thought, our findings show that becoming enlightened mostly involves giving up suffering, though not how you may think.

Surrender your need to be attached to your conscious mind–your non-stop thinking mind. The root of your misery is the attachment to the collection of all your fears, defenses, expectations, ego-self demands, worries, dramas, and other mental constructs.

Seekers are dismayed they don’t find enlightenment in exotic locals and they may be shocked to realize that it can be found in their own living-room, sitting quietly by themselves.

They may be even more shocked that some of the most enlightened people they will ever find are not in the New Age movement. They are the everyday types you find in all walks of life: taxi drivers, wait-staff, artists, business owners, construction workers, pilots, housekeepers, and others (but usually not politicians!)

Enlightenment is simply absolute detachment from your conscious mind, accessing your higher-self (or “God-self,”or “God,” etc.). Therefore, enlightenment doesn’t really exist. It’s an absence, not something to acquire.

It’s the opposite of monkey-mind, when your mind is racing and obsessing over things, and a peaceful state of mind seems light-years away.

Meditation is one way to “become enlightened.” We can assure you, if you haven’t already found out, that meditation takes practice and discipline and you won’t get the hang of it or in the healthy habit of doing it regularly after just a few sessions. Your subconscious mind will resist it at every turn in the beginning. It’s your mind’s way of attempting to maintain control, to keep you in the monkey-mind mode. But once you get in the habit of regular mediation, detaching from mind-chatter becomes easier.

Directing your focus toward one single thing exclusively for at least 20 minutes (much easier said than done), such as your breathing, or the terrain in front of you as you walk, instead of your thoughts, is what meditation is all about. It is also, with practice, one sure way to become enlightened. The more detached you are from your mundane mind, the closer you are to your true spiritual self.

By the way, one sure way you can tell if you are still chained to your thoughts is if you are actively passing judgment–judging your experience (instead of simply experiencing it), yourself, or other people, for example.

We also believe that the closer you are to a consistent state of enlightenment, the more you realize that you can’t avoid negative thoughts, such as annoyance at a rude individual sitting next to you on an airplane, but you certainly can detach from those types of thoughts on your way to a more blissful mindset. Your mind will react the way it will react and the best you can do is acknowledge it, while distancing yourself from it.

It’s okay to have believed the falsehood about enlightenment being something that you discover, like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. But now you should act on the truth–that enlightenment is simply a lack of attachment to the constant dialog in your mind. Start detaching from your mind now to improve your life.

How to Use Gratitude to Your Advantage

Gratitude is a powerful, even magical tool that you can use to improve your state of mind, deal with challenging situations, be more optimistic, and even transform your life.

When you accept a situation you can’t change, and even express gratitude for what it is teaching you, the situation will likely become easier to tolerate. Gratitude makes life more pleasant.

You can express gratitude for an unlimited number of things. Here are some examples below.

Instead of worrying about money, be grateful for what you do have. Be grateful you have something to eat and a place to sleep. Be grateful for the good ideas that will come to you that will help you generate more income. Be grateful for assistance from unexpected sources. Be grateful for new ways to save and make money. Be grateful that where there’s a will, there’s often a way, or at least an important spiritual lesson to be learned.

Instead of disliking parts of your face or body, be grateful for and focus on the parts you do like, change what you can, and accept what you can’t. Be grateful for your hair color, or the beautiful shade you will color it. Be grateful for your eyesight, your hearing, and your sense of taste and smell. Be grateful you have the option to eat a healthier diet and exercise so you can look and feel your best. Be grateful for the motivation to eat healthily and exercise. Be grateful for all the ways you’ll benefit from doing so.

Instead of worrying about your health, take your power back and be grateful for up-to-date, cutting-edge health information. Be grateful there’s often a natural and safe alternative to many ailments. Be grateful you will be able to heal.

Instead of feeling lonely because you’re single, be grateful for the good things about being single. Be grateful for your friends, pets, family, hobbies, and neighbors. Be grateful for what you’ve learned in past relationships. Be grateful you’re forgiving yourself and everyone else and letting go of the past.

Instead of being angry at someone, be grateful for what they are teaching you. Be grateful you’re taking the higher path so you avoid incurring karma. Be grateful you see the big picture and realize no one is really your enemy. Be grateful for all your teachers, and that you have the opportunity to make a difference in others’ lives too.

Instead of disliking your job, be grateful for what you learn and the money you earn. Be grateful for your boss and coworkers, even if they are impossible to deal with. Be grateful for work-related stress for what it teaches you, and that you can overcome it in creative ways.

Instead of worrying about a particular problem, be grateful you’ll find a solution.

Instead of fearing war, visualize and be grateful for, practice, and be an example of peace.

Instead of going through the same old routine every day, take a day off and make it a gratitude day. Do things you don’t normally do, even if it’s as simple as relaxing with a book. Express gratitude about everything, all day. By the end of the day you’ll have a fresh perspective about life and yourself.

5 Spiritual Tips to Deal With Difficult People Over the Holidays

Strife is a fact of life. No matter how much you try to get along with certain individuals in your life, disharmony prevails. It’s like they are driven by a demonic lord to make your life difficult.

Good news! You can’t rid yourself completely of the bad apples in your life, but you can change your perspective and therefore escape the harsh effects of those seemingly darkly influenced people.

Below are five tips to deal effectively with difficult people:

1. Generate compassion. Realize that they are difficult because it’s very possible they are dealing with their own personal demons. It could be anything from early life abuse, to addictions, to deep depression, to actual demonic influence (or all of the above). It’s also likely that if they were to experience directly the negativity they exude, they would be shocked; they may not even realize the extent of the abuse they inflict on others.

2. Accept that you can’t change how they are and that no matter who you were, they would still act the way they do. Don’t take it personally. Stop expecting that person to treat you like you want to be treated. Eventually, even if it is not until that person leaves this world, they will fully realize the pain they have generated. Don’t worry about trying to make them see the wrongs they inflict, that will take care of itself.

3. Detach from the circumstance. In other words, see it happening from outside of yourself, like you’re watching a dramatic soap opera: “Oh, look, there goes so and so again, giving me a hard time.” In doing so, you may even deflate the other person’s cruelty to the point where they might begin to look for someone else to harass instead of you.

4. Avoid reacting negatively, maintain composure and a positive attitude, and even smile if you can manage it. Whatever you do, avoid revenge. If you really feel like responding to that person, do it later, such as through e-mail or text. Write a few notes to yourself immediately after a negative interaction and then think about how to best phrase the e-mail content later.

Also, it’s much easier to keep in control and maintain your cool if you’re getting enough good sleep and exercise, and maintain a healthy diet. It also helps to arm yourself spiritually. Imagine yourself engulfed in a protective spiritual bubble of white Light and ask for help from guides and helpers of the Light on the other side.

5. Consider the opportunity, as unpleasant as it is, as a spiritual test. While it may be true that the other person is incurring negative karma by being difficult, you very well may have some karmic links to their behavior and how it affects you. We believe important life circumstances, the bad and good, aren’t random; they are part of your predetermined karmic framework and it’s up to you to deal with them constructively.

We recommend that, aside from expressing gratitude for the rewards and beauty of life, you view life as a series of tests and opportunities and approach it with compassion and faith. In doing so, you increase your spiritual power, win the game, and when you encounter those unruly souls again, whether on the other side or in a future life, you won’t have to endure a similar test again.

The Consciousness Trap

In your pursuit of spiritual awareness, you may have embraced the “consciousness” movement. After all, it sounds good, right? Become more conscious of yourself, humanity, and the environment, and strive to better the planet.

However, what you may not realize is that to many advocates, “consciousness” includes destructive economic and political policies.

You’re Not Alone if You’ve Fallen For it

Many people have become ensnared in the consciousness trap. The music-to-your-ears cosmic messages, on the surface, appear to be beneficial for humanity and the planet. Some are, some aren’t.

Aside from the feel-good New Age messages about spiritual enlightenment, it’s very common for consciousness advocates to portray American capitalism as a very bad thing, as if they really want to destroy the American system. This is troubling, because contrary to extreme left political ideology, small businesses (defined as fewer than 500 employees) drive the economy, creating approximately 70% of the jobs.

That’s free enterprise, free trade among honorable American citizens, and it’s very unfortunate that the consciousness radicals, instead of focusing on the real problem, big government and big corporation collusion, and crony corporatism, these jokers target the American free enterprise system as a whole, the very thing that has made America and much of the rest of the world prosper.

Take away the economic growth engine of capitalism, and you won’t have time to concern yourself with consciousness, because your days will be consumed with trying to meet your basic survival needs.

Don’t believe us? Go live in North Korea for a while and experience firsthand a communist country. We doubt you’ll be jumping on the “let’s hate America and the capitalist system” bandwagon after that trip.

It’s reminiscent of the 1960s radicals who raged against the American system, but never offered any viable solutions, though the dark side of this movement is much more covert and underhanded.

A consciousness red flag would be something like this: “(A political candidate) has more compassion for all living beings than (the other political candidate), so you must vote for him.”

You won’t ever get a real sense about a candidate’s level of compassion from what they read from the teleprompter, and your interpretation of their intent behind their policies is likely subjective. This is where critical, objective analysis is so important. Sadly, the majority of people are not interested in or simply not capable of it.

How to Navigate the Consciousness Trap

The true meaning of consciousness is self-awareness through identifying and rising above fear-based attachments, including all bias and intolerance. In doing so, you see the world as it really is, and you’ll more likely perceive the truth and lies about each individual political issue.

Daily meditation helps a lot in achieving a clearer state of awareness, especially for those who struggle with impartiality and a reasonable sense of discernment.

Watch for These Types of Bogus Phrases to Help You Identify Phony Consciousness Initiatives

1. You must forgo your individuality for global unity (a “One World Government” slogan).

2. There has never been a better time to open up to universal consciousness.

3. We are moving from duality consciousness to unity consciousness and those who refuse to make the leap with us will be left behind. Stepping through the gateway with us will activate your higher purpose.

4. Once unity consciousness is achieved peace and prosperity will reign forever.

5. You will be able to elevate your spiritual vibration, shed your karma, and ascend beyond the polarity of this dimension (not unless you’re Buddha or Jesus, or otherwise have earned avatar status!).

The future of humanity is not at risk, there are no critical crossroads, and if you follow the advice above, you’ll never get caught in the consciousness trap again.
