Fatalism and Karma: Myths and Misconceptions

Share Button

The American Heritage dictionary defines fatalism as “The doctrine that all events are determined by fate and are therefore unalterable.” To us, fatalism is more forgiving. We have found through our long-term empirical research that at least 75% of everyone’s key life circumstances are predetermined. The type of financial standing, love life, recognition and fame, personal adversity, life purpose, and more, and the related timing; we think it’s all part of your unique personal destiny.

Fatalism in its Proper Perspective

Fatalism can be the predisposition that someone will over-indulge in and become addicted to sugar and nicotine, for example, and therefore incur serious health problems.

Fatalism, seen through comprehensive astrology and numerology, and intuitive readings, consists of general inclinations, and sometimes specific circumstances, such as an alcoholic parent, strife within the family between siblings, three difficult romantic breakups or divorces, two kids, a dynamically successful self-employment career involving publishing, or shrewd investing yielding vast abundance.

You Can Improve Your Life Even With the Most Challenging Fate

Even with the most dire personal fate, you have some freedom within your karmic plan to strive toward a better life. Additionally, we are convinced that much of predestination involves taking the right action at the right time, utilizing your free will; we believe fate and free will are intimately connected. Yet many times, significant events happen in your life no matter what you do. As the saying goes, the way to make God laugh is to make plans.

We always advocate the following life philosophy: understand yourself to the point of knowing your personal fate, deal with the hand you’ve been dealt (by your higher-self, your soul) constructively, take care of your responsibilities, and do everything you can with your free will to enhance your life.

Karma and Fatalism Aren’t Excuses to Avoid Responsibility

Unfortunately, too many people mistakenly think they have 100% free will while dismissing the belief in karma and predestination as a way to dodge obligations, commitments, and taking responsibility for their lives. Some people have the wrong idea about the topic of “fatalism” and “believing in karma.” They erroneously believe that karma is “…merely an excuse (like the will of God) to never take charge of your life and actually do something.” Or they may say that it’s just a tricky way to avoid taking responsibility because the person is too cowardly to act.

While some people on this planet (e.g., in select non-Western countries where Eastern religions prevail) believe in and practice absolute fatalism, meaning they believe they have zero free will to influence their life, all superstition aside, by and large the rest of the human race believes it is possible to improve their lives (at least to some degree) through appropriate action. “Control over one’s destiny” is another way in modern times to say “taking action to make a better life.”

Fatalism doesn’t have to mean 100% of everything in your life, even what you decide to have for desert, is fated. That’s silly. Equally silly is a lot of praying and, or visualizing without taking any concrete, efficient action toward your goals, or setting unrealistic goals.

Acceptance of Karma Equates to Taking Full Responsibility For Your Life

Most rational people today who believe in the notion of karma understand that embracing the idea of karma is all about taking responsibility for everything about your life. There’s nothing cowardly about, for example, forgiving those who have hurt you, healing yourself, accepting that you may have had the negativity coming to you (since you know that what goes around comes around even if it finally comes around from, for instance, 70 lifetimes ago), and not placing the blame on someone else.

Americans mostly believe that consistent, efficient effort makes for a better life, and we believe it does too, within the confines of personal fate. But don’t deceive yourself out of overbearing pride that you can “be or become anything you want.” You can if the desire matches your path, but life doesn’t
always work that way (total free will) despite what many self-help “authorities” might tell you.

That might sound unpleasant, but we believe you’ll agree, in time, it’s ultimately far more unpleasant to be led astray on the New Age path of illusion. Being sold New Age snake-oil is something you want to avoid, no matter how enticingly poetic and heartfelt the sales-pitch might sound to you.

Fatalism Includes Rewards Too

Occasionally there is an innately talented and intelligent person who works his or her way up from ground zero to accomplish great things, but this is all in the realm of fatalism too, in our view-big things happen because they are fated to happen. Success, good fortune, and failure is relative to your karmic plan. Hang in there and make the most of your life, it’s within your fate to do so.

In Support of Handwriting Analysis

Share Button

Skeptics of handwriting analysis say they want statistics on the validity of handwriting analysis, such as those involving published medical studies. Yet time and time again the outcomes of such scientific studies are proved unreliable due to bias (e.g., the study that found the drug superior was sponsored by the company that makes it).

Or, skeptics suggest that a handwriting analysis study should be “peer-reviewed.” However, there are many studies showing that peer review doesn’t enhance the accuracy of scientific work at all.

Even so, if they insist on scientific reviews, there exist many involving the science of handwriting analysis. The best anyone can do is to conduct objective empirical investigations, such as the ones here (extensive list–over 200, many from the past decade–of scientific papers published in non-graphological peer-reviewed journals since 1950): http://tinyurl.com/4cx3nf

You can’t prove that something has scientific validity. But you can prove a practice invalid. So far, handwriting analysis (or comprehensive astrology, or comprehensive numerology, etc.) has yet to be proven invalid. The above studies very firmly lend authenticity to the science of graphology.

An aside, handwriting analysts never claim 100% accuracy, and there doesn’t exist any psychological assessment tool that is 100% accurate.

Handwriting analysis is a valid supplement to other testing methods. It’s extremely useful in determining if a job applicant fits a job description, thereby saving the company time and money, along with helping to reduce security risks. It does not, however, directly predict the success of the applicant on the job.

Handwriting analysis is also extremely effective in assessing already existing employees’ strengths and challenges. It can go a long way in helping to improve workplace productivity and morale by uncovering true abilities and compatibility.

Reasonable levels of accuracy are assured if the graphologist has extensive training, such as by earning certification from a respected handwriting analysis school. An analyst knowledgeable in both trait-based and  holistic approach graphology is best, rather than only one of the two methodologies.

A graphologist’s analysis is relative to the time the handwriting sample was written. Although it’s possible for a person’s script to change somewhat over time, the basic structure (organization, form, zonal balance, spacing, etc.) most often remains the same. But it is a good idea to have the person offer an updated writing sample for a current analysis if the person has gone through some major life changes, or if the last analysis they had done was when they were 23, and they are now 43, for example.

For those who are still skeptical of graphology, recall that many respected scientists in the earlier part of the twentieth century insisted that psychology could not be a science. It took decades for psychology to be accepted as the valid science it is today.

The U.S. Library of Congress catalogues graphology (handwriting analysis) books in the psychology, document examination, and personnel screening categories.

“Graphologist” (handwriting analyst) is listed in the U.S. Department of Labor’s Directory of Occupational Titles (DOT) as “miscellaneous professional.”

The U.S. Department of Labor Dictionary of Occupational Titles lists the profession of graphologist (handwriting analyst) as follows: http://tinyurl.com/52wb9u 199.267-038 GRAPHOLOGIST Analyzes handwriting to appraise personal characteristics: Obtains handwriting specimen to observe overall appearance of writing and detailed formation of letters. Measures height of letters and slant of writing, using calibrated templates. Observes individual writing strokes to determine unique or distinguishing characteristics, using ruler and low-power magnifying glass or microscope. Evaluates handwriting sample and interprets findings, according to theories of handwriting analysis. May use diagram to plot writing characteristics. GOE: 02.04.01 STRENGTH: S GED: R4 M3 L3 SVP: 6 DLU: 89 Evidence of handwriting analysis having done harm in personnel selection or in other applications in the workplace is non-existent.

Over 300 handwriting indicators must be considered in doing a thorough analysis. Some of the more notable considerations are as follows: consistency; compression; down-strokes; elaboration; expansion; finals; fluidity; form; harmony; lead-ins; loops; margins; movement; organization; pressure; rhythm; signature compared to the rest of script; size; slant; overall arrangement and picture of space; spacing (letter, word, line, etc.); speed; zonal balance and much more.

Does any single consideration, such as excessive elaboration, override the cumulative strength of the collective body of other considerations? No.

All of the hundreds of indicators in a handwriting sample collectively either support or reduce the energy of any one consideration. Any single indicator must be corroborated by other indicators. The analyst weighs individual considerations and then views them in the context of the entire writing sample; the sample is dissected then re-built into a profile outlining the personality.

Graphology is grounded in common sense. For example, pressure of handwriting is symbolic of emphasis in speech; size is representative of how much attention you want; slant is how you react (left = withdrawal, right = outwardly expressive); writing movement is how you act (e.g., appears to be moving forward quickly equates to high drive, etc.); and signature could be interpreted as how you want others to view you. Handwriting is like mind-writing and handwriting analysis is a mind interpretation method.

Graphology is a valid, ethical approach to help define a person’s abilities and challenges, and it can help employers run their businesses more efficiently (before and after hiring). It can also be used by parents, singles, couples, teachers, and anyone else who is seeking more understanding about themselves and others.

10 Spiritual Tips to Overcome Financial Fears

Share Button

It seems just about everyone is needing to be more mindful about money these days. People are cutting back more than ever and finally paying more attention to their spending habits.

For some, so far, it’s only a matter of awareness. All the recession talk is causing them to be more cautious, even though their income and expenses, to this date, have not changed much.

Others, after losing their job or experiencing major pay cuts, are having trouble meeting basic expenses like their rent or mortgage payment.

One good thing that may come from the recession includes an increasing number of people taking more responsibility for their financial future. Many will think twice before whipping out a credit card on every impulse. Things that seemed like necessities in the past, such as a nicer car, dining out frequently, expensive cups of coffee, or the hippest new fashions from the trendiest stores are being bypassed for alternatives.

Despondent about when things will get better? It varies for everyone. Periods of financial struggle and times of abundance throughout your life can be readily identified; they are symbolized through cyclical timing methods in the comprehensive numerology and astrology charts or foretold by some psychics. Likewise, your overall money fate over the course of your entire life can be determined as well; below, average, above, or way above average financial prosperity is symbolized in the comprehensive chart patterns. If this concept is new to you and you’re skeptical, we understand. It took us many years to recognize the authenticity and accept the notion of, fixed personal fate.

How does this concept apply to someone who is always in debt? It indicates they may be living beyond their means, buying more than what they are destined to possess (unless they are destined to have more money but are subconsciously blocking financial success, which is discernible through handwriting analysis). They may think it’s their “birthright” to have and buy whatever they want, when they want it. But if they want to get out of debt and remain there, they must reduce their spending and accept the level of material abundance that their soul (not their conscious self) chose before incarnating.

For those who are financially responsible but have hit a temporary rough patch, or for anyone else who wants to make the most of their financial fate, we offer two different methods to help whenever you’re feeling apprehensive about your finances.

The first is what we call the Mystic’s Magic Formula.

1) Make time to consider your situation from a spiritual perspective. Review your assumptions and expectations and let them go.

2) Accept what has happened, what is, and where you are (essential in order to move on). Surrender to your inner wisdom. Establish and cultivate your goals after determining if they are relatively realistic.

3) Gratitude: express it for where you are, everything rewarding in your life that you have, and the good that will be, and strengthen your faith by continuing to emotionalize the desired, end result.

4) Invite help from your higher-self, guides of the Light and, or God.

5) Calm your mind and fears and awaken your awareness through meditation.

6) What’s the next step? Ask this every step of the way and be open for clues.

7) Assume responsibility for yourself and your situation (no blaming).

8) Navigate your path with the tools available to you: numerology and astrology, meditation, past life regression, graphology, and other effective self-help methods.

9) Do what you need to do, when you need to do it (and do “the right thing” in all situations).

The second method is easier and especially helpful when you are feeling depressed, confused, or helpless about your situation. It can be used anywhere, anytime, and when practiced often, it will make a world of difference and generate enormous peace of mind.

Instead of feeding your depression or feelings of lack, elevate your energy and change your state of mind. That may sound a bit vague, but it’s fairly easy to do: just feel excited about more money, a better work environment, more clients, more love, a better date, or whatever, but the trick is to feel in general terms, such as simply “mass abundance.”

Don’t think of details yet or analyze how you can reach your goal. When you feel the worry energy weighing down your heart and solar-plexus (stomach) chakras areas, instead of giving in to it, transmute it, replace it with the positive energy of excitement. Feel excited and let the energy rise and then imagine yourself merging with a higher, protective, and guiding power. Perceive yourself surrounded and filled with a bright, white light. Make this process a regular habit.

Feel as if your dilemma is solved. What’s that really like for you? A huge sense of relief? Satisfaction? Generate all the positive emotions. Getting excited about the idea of a solution will more easily allow you to perceive the most fitting one when it’s time for you to do so. Worrying about something? Cancel that (think, “cancel, cancel, cancel”) and correct and, or reverse the fear-based imagery in your mind; feel excited as if everything is working out better than expected. Keep feeling the excitement over and over and it will help to cancel out dark or negative energy that may be interfering and causing you to experience more fear than usual.

Everything goes in unique cycles, including your finances. Even though you can’t skip the tough parts of life, you can use your free will to make the most of your personal fate and your stay on this planet.

Ascension

Share Button

“Ascension” is a popular spiritual topic. In Christianity the term is used to describe the bodily rising of Jesus into heaven. In the New Age, it’s descriptive of consciously transcending this dimension (i.e., “self-ascension”) to advance spiritually to a higher plane, one that is void of earthly negativity, without having to die to do so. In other words, those who “ascend” believe they are manifesting utopia, a “new reality,” freeing themselves from bondage.

The typical tale goes something like this: “Are you experiencing relationship changes and endings? Are you finding yourself more stressed? Are you going through a major shift? The Earth’s energy is rising, it’s transforming, reality is accelerating, and you don’t want to get caught up in the chaos. Take charge of your life and ascend to a higher reality!” (details of the expensive seminar follow).

In all due respect to most healers and other spiritual workers who largely only strive for the best for their clients and the world, we offer our opinion of the metaphysical notion of ascension below. Please understand that we simply relay our findings based on long-term, unbiased empirical research. We believe that if you follow our advice, you will save yourself a lot of time, and gain peace of mind.

We do address the topic of ascension regularly, albeit indirectly, through our teachings about reincarnation, fate, and karma. The ultimate goal of incarnating, of life, is to get it right and finish the karmic cycle, which could be viewed as ascension. Not everyone evolves at the same rate, in our view, and the Earth’s energy has always been changing, so the concept of ascension is nothing new.

While we readily agree that some individuals throughout history, such as ascended masters, teachers, and guides of the light, and select others may have “ascended,” we estimate that at least 95% of the population won’t be ascending this time around, no matter what seminar or course they attend. Sure, you can prepare to ascend, you can do everything possible to avoid incurring negative karma now, but unfortunately your soul, not your ego-self, tallies all your spiritual debts from past incarnations and determines when you will graduate.

Life isn’t a science fiction TV show and there isn’t a time when “true believers” will ascend to a higher plane, leaving behind all negative energy. That’s wishful thinking. It’s important to separate Hollywood fantasy from spiritual reality.

All you have to do is look at their intent, actions, and words to see that most people are, in one way or another, regularly creating negative karma for themselves that will need to be dealt with in future incarnations (karma doesn’t return to you in the same life as often as many mistakenly assume).

Even the common act of rationalizing mostly innocuous misconduct for example, or the act of psychically sending someone negative energy (such as the malicious hate mail we occasionally receive from those who disagree with our views, which always inspires us to write more, thanks!) because you don’t like their opinion can buy a round-trip ticket back to Earth.

You must first balance all your karma before ascending, only your soul knows for sure all the details about your cosmic debts, and you (your personality) can’t convince your soul (your spiritual self) to skip your karmic lessons. To erroneously believe you can side-step karma and cheat personal fate is, in our professional opinion, arrogant and ignorant, yet many New Age teachers promote such ideals.

We conclude that self-ascension, as promoted in the New Age today, is mythical and the spiritual accomplishment of ascension is only for those who have truly earned it. By the way, in our experience, if someone is telling you that this is their “last lifetime,” based on our past life regression research, rest assured that it most likely isn’t.

However, don’t let the spiritual realities we point out discourage you. If you really want to finish the karmic cycle and ascend, you will, in time, by following this simple advice: Always do the “right thing” in all situations. By the “right thing,” we don’t mean doing what is “morally” right (an opinion of what is “correct” behavior, e.g. marrying “for the sake of the children,” avoiding alcohol, or taking a stand against casual, wanton safe-sex). We simply mean treating others as you want to be treated.

Numerology: Number 2

Share Button

Every number symbolically includes balanced, over-balanced, and under-balanced energy. The particular form of the number that is exhibited largely depends on the figurative support or resistance of the other hundreds of considerations in the natal and timing comprehensive charts.

The number 2 in its stable form includes energy such as diplomacy, keeping the peace, detail-orientation, sensitivity, partnerships, cooperation, flexibility, harmony, emotional availability, teamwork, talent for event coordination, friendship, romance, group activities, good listening skills, excellent counseling talent, rhythm, solid intuition, open-mindedness, good problem-solving skills, talent for politics, and more.

Like all numbers, it has its imperfections, expressed through its over-balanced or under-balanced form. Trepidation, petty resentments, self-esteem too firmly connected to romantic partnerships, conflict-avoidance, low self-confidence, indecisiveness, passiveness, vacillation, difficulty with solitude, lacking in courage, fragility, lost in details, over-sensitivity, lack of disciplinarian skills, over-whelmed with psychic energies, codependence, and being too much of a magnet for cosmic debris (e.g., others’ negative thoughts) are key problems with the number 2.

Sadly, those with a lot of 2 energy frequently find themselves in the following scenario: They are excessively accommodating and helpful, even to the point of being sacrificial, then secretly carry a grudge and resent over-extending themselves to those who don’t sincerely appreciate or even acknowledge their efforts. Also, commonly, there are those with heavy natal 2 whose impressive efforts result in success for their team, yet their individual acclaim and glory isn’t forthcoming thus, naturally, again they feel cheated.

In its worst form, 2, when supported by other, similar indicators, is as follows: sneaky; manipulative; under-handed; smile-on-the-outside, an “I’m your good friend” outward disposition, but devious behind the mask; dual nature; emotionally explosive; manipulative; exploitative; insincere; prone to cheat; dishonest; and others saying about them, “how could he (or she) have done that, they seem so nice!” after uncovering trickery and deception.

To its credit, the number 2 is unbeatable in undercover and diplomatic work, subtle persuasion, and negotiations. It also eventually finds a healthy balance in supporting others and avoiding being controlled and feeling overly-responsible. It’s not your fault, number 2. Stop being a martyr.

Heavy 2 timing energy will make you much more aware of your repressed emotional and sexual energy. You can’t help but get in touch with your inner-self under strong 2 timing. You’re more vulnerable under the number 2. Also, don’t be too modest and try not to be a doormat.

The number 2 is the “deer caught in the headlights” look, although shock and surprise is more associated with 11 than 2.

Those who largely lack the number 2 throughout their comprehensive numerology charts have chosen this lifetime, in part, to focus on effectively working with others. Their success frequently depends on it. There’s a need to be immersed in the community and to cultivate interpersonal connections. There can be a harshness, a lack of sympathy in some cases, and a heavy demand for patience. The particulars and finer points of any given undertaking can be a problem too.

2 is some of the slowest-moving energy, can equate to upsets with supportive indicators, and it is frequently a disappointment related to finances. However, it’s also representative of one of the best romantic connections you’ve ever had. Although number 2 finishes second, its rewards have more to do with partnerships, friendships, and romance.

Five Common Questions Asked of Psychics

Share Button
“Did he/she cheat?”If you have to ask a psychic this question, you may not be ready to have a real relationship, the connection you have with the person is not conducive to a compatible relationship, the person is not the monogamous type and, or the person is not deserving of your trust or time.

Some people need and, or want variety (statistics show it’s a lot more than some), or find that one person cannot meet all their needs and are better off not trying to be monogamous. It’s also a waste of energy to attempt to force these types to remain exclusive with you, which may be about as effective as them trying to force you to be happily non-monogamous.

Trying to make someone live within your relationship ideals is not unconditional love, and controlling behavior will incur negative karma. If you’ve been involved with someone who can’t or won’t be monogamous, you may want to ask yourself why you chose, on a subconscious level, to become involved with them. It just might be possible you’re naturally more non-monogamous.

As a reminder, safe-sex every time is a good idea if you have any doubts whatsoever about whether or not your partner is being monogamous.

Not much is ever mentioned about the spiritual side-effects of casual sex. If you’re spiritually sensitive, it’s possible to pick up others’ negative energy from your lover if he or she strays, especially if it’s done with negative emotions such as guilt or anger, which weakens a person’s spiritual defenses. For this reason, among others, some feel that demanding strict monogamy can be more harmful than helpful. But fear of negative energy is a weak excuse to try to force a lover into monogamy, since you can inadvertently pick up cosmic garbage in numerous ways and it’s relatively easy to cleanse and protect yourself.

Whether you are monogamous or not, it’s a good idea to protect yourself from dark energies. Meditation and visualizing yourself being cleansed and guarded with white Light are two methods. Avoiding drugs and excess alcohol will make you spiritually stronger. If you would like more help we recommend our Spiritual Detox recording.

“Does he/she really love me?”

Love means many different things to different people, and everyone expresses it differently. If you want someone to love you the way you love them, it may not be realistic. Consider why you are asking this question. If you have doubts about their sincerity, it may be time to move on. Otherwise, if you have a burning need to be someone’s “one and only” and you require them to voice their steadfast devotion to you on a regular basis, consider therapy.

“Is he/she my soul mate?”

He or she is most likely one of them, since everyone has many. If you’re looking for “The One” who you’ll be with “together forever,” we recommend a different approach. It’s okay to know what you want, but try to allow each dating situation to unfold naturally instead of trying to mold it into your fantasy or the ideal.

“When will he/she come back to me?”

When people ask if it’s a good idea to get back together with an ex or if the ex is coming back, 90% of the time the answer is “no.” If one or both of them are under age 30 or so, we’ve found it to be “no” 99% of the time.

When it’s over, it’s over, and if they left, usually they’ve already made up their mind and no amount of begging, manipulating, or hoping will change that. If you’re the one who left, you likely did so for good reasons. Remember those reasons and try to let go of any fears about being on your own again. Going back to someone who is not compatible is never a good idea.

If your lover left, you have a choice; resist and create more unhappiness for yourself, or accept it and let go. It won’t be easy at first, but once you accept that it’s over (completely, or at least for now) and move on, you will be in a position to consider if it’s really in your and their best interest to get back together. The answer is often “no.”

Depending on your outlook, this may or may not be good news for you: through our research we’ve found that everyone has many soul mates.

“We met online but haven’t met in-person yet. Is there a future for our relationship?”

We determine through our readings and analyses levels of compatibility and if a couple’s interaction will be shorter or longer-term, but if you’ve never actually met, it’s not really a relationship. If you’ve met more than a few online contestants in-person, you may have realized by now that it’s usually not a good idea to spend more than a couple weeks emailing or an hour or two talking on the phone with someone you’ve never met in person; if there is no face-to-face chemistry (which is very difficult to determine by email or phone), it will be awkward and you’ll feel like you only wasted time. Experienced online daters will likely understand why we say this.

Two Common Questions Asked of Psychics

Share Button
“When will I get married (or meet my life partner or soul mate)?”Many young adults ask us this question. Though we can determine through our readings and analyses when someone is likely to experience a compatible love connection, we always recommend to those not yet in their 30s to avoid spending too much energy looking for a serious relationship or marriage partner.

Many of them would be much better off going with the flow, dating, having fun, enjoying their youth, learning who they are beyond the social programming, and focusing on their careers so they have a life before they try to make a relationship “permanent” through a legally-binding agreement.

It would be nice if you met a compatible “life partner” early in life and remained happily together for the “rest of your life.” Unfortunately, most people’s soul schedule or personal fate doesn’t always include what they want, when they’d like to experience it, contrary to popular New Age opinion, no matter how much they “master the art of manifestation.”

Also, the concepts of lock-it-in-forever-happy-marriage and life partners are human, artificial constructs, not spiritually-based; our belief is that on a soul level they are viewed as unrealistic, and life-long relationships aren’t perceived as mandatory or even necessary in many cases when a soul is planning the next incarnation.

If you think about it, in most cases, a fulfilling, satisfying relationship with the same partner from your 20s until you die of old age is unrealistic since everyone changes (for better or worse) at different rates. Yes, some couples do “grow old together” if it’s destined to work out that way, but if it’s not, people don’t have to suffer for the rest of their lives. It’s not the 1800s any more, thankfully. People don’t need to rely entirely on a spouse to survive anymore. You now have the option of being independent and being with a partner because you want to, not just because you’re settling in order to survive.

As far as the notion of a “twin flame” soul mate goes, we’ve found through our long-term, empirical research that it’s as mythical as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny; it’s an illusionary and subjective concept. Although some soul mates are better than others, after all the illusions fade away, there is no perfect match. Distorted, romantic idealism can be an innocuous escape, but too often it leads people astray, detracting from their earthly purposes and making life more complicated.

Instead of viewing marriage as an important destination and wondering when you’ll be swept off your feet, a better question to ask would be when are you most likely to meet someone who is compatible, or experience one of your more compatible relationships.

In addition to accepting the truth that not all relationships are meant to last a lifetime, we also recommend accepting that everyone has many soul mates. These two suggestions alone will save you much heartache and stress.

We’ve found that all relationships have destined starting and ending times (emotionally and romantically), and most are not meant to last “forever,” even if a couple chooses to stay together, essentially as roommates for whom the flame has long since extinguished, if it even existed at all. If you look at the big picture, a life-long relationship may seem ideal, and it may be part of some people’s path, but from a spiritual perspective, it isn’t as important as you may think.

If you would like to meet a compatible soul mate, make the most of yourself and have faith that you will meet the right people at the right time. Letting go of any resentment or regret from past relationships and accepting your status of being single will clear the way for a more compatible person, and remaining open to new possibilities instead of thinking in “all (‘The One,’ ‘Forever’) or nothing” terms will lead to more success in your love life. If you’re already involved with someone, letting go of expectations (that may or may not be related to the “twin flame” or other soul mate myths, or “acceptable” social standards) and accepting the person and situation as they are will lead to more harmony.

“Does he/she like me?” “Is he/she thinking about me?”

We can understand if you don’t want to make the first move out of fear of being embarrassed or rejected. But it’s really not your right to know what someone is thinking unless they tell or show you.

Meditate and ask for signs about whether or not it’s a good idea for you to make it clear you are interested or to contact the person. You have nothing to lose, unless you work together. In that case, it’s usually best to remain friends due to the possibility of the relationship issues causing problems at work.

The Overlooked Root of Sexual Orientation

Share Button

We recently heard a popular cable radio talk show host discuss the gay marriage ban in CA. The host often offers valuable insight about current events, but his views about sexual orientation are way off, in our opinion.

He was saying how important it was to vote Yes on Prop 8 (the bill passed on Tue., Nov. 4th, outlawing gay marriage in CA) because he said sexual orientation is not genetic (“because identical twins aren’t always both gay or straight”) but from environment, and how allowing gays to marry would damage our society.

Ah, pardon us Mr. radio show host, but we’re identical twins, our early environment was the same, yet there are innate differences between us, including sexual orientation. Our contrasts are clearly seen in the comprehensive numerology and astrology charts, by the way. And no, we didn’t look at the charts as teenagers and say “OK, you’ll be the gay one, Stephen, and I’ll be the straight one.”

What do we attribute our different sexual orientations to? Something that we’ve never heard discussed by the media in relation to the topic; past lives and karma. We thoroughly discuss these topics and more in our free download, Direct Your Destiny.

It is very clear to us, based on personal experience and our extensive empirical research, that sexual orientation, along with all the other unique characteristics of each person, begins with the soul, expresses itself through the personality, can be influenced (but is not determined completely by) genetics, and is also somewhat, to a lesser degree, influenced by environment. In other words, sexual orientation for each person is already determined before the soul enters the body.

The radio show host said environment is why many men in ancient Greece had young male lovers and if gay marriage was made legal today, it would encourage young kids to be gay. He said the percentage of gay people in Greece then vs. now was higher because of the acceptance of homosexuality.

Statistics (measured how, is unclear) show the percentage of gay people in our society now is about 10%. Really? Based on Stephen’s experience of being hit on by hundreds of married “straight” men in his teens and 20s, and the countless inquiries to his matchmaking service in the 1990s by married “straight” men seeking another man (Stephen’s service did not accept married members, by the way), he feels it’s more like 10% who are obvious or out, an additional 15% or more who have gay or bi tendencies that are not acted on or kept secret, and possibly many more who are gay or bi who are in denial.

If sexuality were only influenced by environment, which largely encourages children to be straight, there would be few gay people who are “out,” and even fewer who feel attracted to the same sex but don’t act on it. If sexual orientation were only a conscious choice, we doubt many would “choose” to be gay since it’s much easier and safer in this world to be heterosexual, especially in the many countries where sex between consenting adults of the same gender can be (and, amazingly, still is) penalized by long jail sentences, torture, and even death.

It is true that among twins, it’s fairly common for one twin to be gay and the other straight, but what the radio host and most people don’t understand (and we don’t blame them) is that people are more than just hunks of meat with a brain. Two twins can look and sound identical, but if you go deeper, through past life regression, handwriting analysis, and comprehensive astrology and numerology, for example, you will find vast differences. In other words, even identical twins have different souls and different fingerprints (despite having identical DNA), and their souls make them each unique.

Modern science ignores the influence of spirit, yet we find genetics trivial compared to non-physical considerations, such as the progression of the soul throughout lifetimes.

According to what the radio host said, he seems to be suggesting that if his early environment had been one of absolute tolerance toward gays, he may in fact be gay today. Perhaps he fought hard against feelings towards the same sex and “chose” to be straight. If he insists that sexuality is a “choice,” then perhaps he could tell us when he decided to be straight.

Some suggest that it would be bad if more people were (openly) gay. That shows a high level of intolerance, clearly. These types typically say they “have no problem with gays,” but if that were true, they shouldn’t have a problem with gay people getting married.

Those who voted Yes on Prop. 8 (to ban gay marriage), whether because of their “religion” or other reasons, may be afraid that a lot of people would choose to be gay, overthrowing society as we know it. This might give new meaning to professional sports heroes slapping each other on the ass. Maybe they’re right–it could be a threat to national security if there were no heterosexuals to protect our country (joke).

Life is too precious to hate people you don’t even know. Let’s update our views about sexual orientation, shall we? It’s “orientation,” not “preference.” How many gays have you met who are really straight but just “prefer” to be gay? Probably not nearly as many people who are really gay who prefer to be straight; perhaps this is the reason the word “preference” is so often tossed around today in connection with sexuality.

If gay marriage were legal and everyone was totally accepting, even encouraging to others to express their true sexuality, yes, more people would eventually be more comfortable acting on their gay or bi tendencies. But why would that be a bad thing? It wouldn’t, except to those who feel being gay is “wrong.” More acceptance of sexual orientation would also eventually help to eliminate the problem of gay men or women pretending to be straight (or being in denial of their true orientation), getting married as a cover, and then sneaking around behind their partner’s back, potentially putting them at risk for STDS. It would also decrease the number of teen suicides.

If there was suddenly much more acceptance of gays and lesbians, it’s doubtful that there would be a mass exodus of people turning gay and moving to West Hollywood, unless they were already closeted. Also, it’s doubtful that young children would be influenced much, since sexual orientation isn’t just about sex, but also attraction to a gender, which can start at a very young age. People tend to eventually do what they really feel anyway; more acceptance of gays would not “turn” people gay or bi who are not gay or bi already.

Complete tolerance for everyone and their orientation isn’t only “the right thing to do,” it’s a sure way to avoid negative karma and future life conflicts involving the issue.

5 More Handwriting Analysis Concerns Addressed

Share Button

Handwriting analysis (graphology) shows how a person thinks and acts, along with their emotional balance, maturity, and much more. It denotes past conduct and displays potential for future behavior.

The fascinating thing about handwriting analysis is that you can interpret beyond the persona; subconscious personality is revealed.

Common mistaken beliefs about handwriting analysis abound, such as that it involves only scrutiny of the signature or how attractive the script appears.

Below we deal with five common concerns about the science of graphology.

Concern:
“My writing looks horrible! Will this rule me out?”

Answer:
No. How your writing actually looks (form, etc.) is only one indicator of hundreds. Don’t worry. There are highly skilled and talented people throughout history who have messy-looking handwriting. The world is also replete with sociopaths who have very attractive-looking handwriting.

Concern:
“What if I have a physical limitation, such as arthritis that limits my handwriting?”

Answer:
Handwriting analysts take any physical limitation into consideration. As we list on our handwriting sample form, “Please explain any physical limitation that affects your handwriting…If you are using medication that you feel might alter your handwriting in any way, please say so and list the medication.” We also state on our “How to Prepare a Handwriting Sample” document, “Please state if you have suffered any emotional or physical trauma during the last year that might affect your handwriting,” and take such things into consideration when doing the analysis.

Concern:
“What if my handwriting changes depending on the writing instrument and the surface on which I’m writing?”

Answer:
A well-trained handwriting analyst gives specific directions to the person writing the handwriting sample to avoid any such concerns. Please see “How to Prepare a Handwriting Sample”. In this document, we ask that you use a regular ball-point pen, unlined paper, be seated comfortably at a desk or table, and write at least a half page, among other advice.

Also, most of the 300+ indicators of your handwriting change far less than you realize no matter with what or on what you are writing.

Concern:
“If artists can alter their handwriting when they want, doesn’t this mean it’s not a useful personality assessment tool?”

Answer:
If a person is applying for a job and they are told that as part of the hiring process they will be asked to submit a handwriting sample, and the sample directions list the following (among other requests): “The writing sample should be done in your normal writing style while you are comfortably seated at a table or desk. If you habitually print, then please also include a paragraph of cursive writing. If you normally have several styles of writing, you may also include samples of each,” then chances are they will not attempt to alter their usual script. Even if they do, a good analyst can spot affectation and bluff. By attempting to significantly alter his or her writing, the writer also would risk misrepresenting themselves to the detriment of appearing to not be a match for the job.

Concern:
“According to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, handwriting analysis might seem to be discriminatory since if anyone who has a disability cannot take a test, then nobody can; evaluations that can’t be adapted for use by those who are disabled, such as a blind person, can’t be used by a potential employer.”

Answer:
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has stated, “We are not aware of any evidence or cases which suggest that graphology has an adverse impact on a protected class.”

Anyone who can write a few paragraphs of spontaneous writing, even if it is with their foot or mouth holding the pen, can have their handwriting analyzed. Despite what some might claim, a handwriting analyst can’t distinguish sex, sexual orientation, race, age, weight, height, religion, or marital status from a handwriting sample. Handwriting analysis might just be the most non-discriminatory personality profiling method in existence. Firm correlations between specific protected classes and handwriting analysis indicators have not been identified.

An employer should make sure that every job applicant submits a handwriting sample, whether or not that applicant’s handwriting sample is to be analyzed, if the employer plans to analyze handwriting as a form of evaluation for the job.

We advise the utilization of graphology as one of the most valuable forms of character analysis available.

Handwriting Analysis–6 Concerns Addressed

Share Button

Handwriting analysis is the scientific investigation of handwriting to determine personality characteristics.

Although handwriting analysis is gaining in popularity, many misconceptions exist about this complex form of personality analysis.

Below we address six common concerns about handwriting analysis:

Concern:
“If behavioral scientists had found it to be a valid tool, then they would have done so by now and it would be commonly used.”

Answer:
Human behavioral studies involving handwriting analysis exist and it has been found to be a valid tool. More than 200 scientific papers have been published in non-graphological peer-reviewed publications in the last 58 years: http://tinyurl.com/4cx3nf

Also, handwriting analysis is already commonly used in the workplace (and elsewhere) at this time, although it is more popular in Europe than it is in America.

Concern:
“As a candidate for a job, I want to be considered due to my experience and talent, not the results of some examination of my signature.”

Answer:
Your signature (and how it relates to the rest of your script) is only part of what is analyzed. At least a half page handwriting sample is best to properly analyze handwriting.

We and other respected professionals advise employers to hire based on a person’s experience, talent, and the results of personality testing methods, which indicate whether someone has the mindset for a particular job. We recommend the use of a range of evaluations (e.g., graphology in conjunction with other psychological testing methods), in addition to the interview to determine a person’s fit for the demands of any particular job.

As we say on our handwriting sample forms, “Decisions will not be made based only on the results of the graphological analysis, but in conjunction with the interview process, decision-maker observations, and other information.”

Concern:
“What if 10 different handwriting analysts interpret a person’s script 10 different ways? Isn’t there a problem with interpretation?”

Answer:
We recommend employers hire well-trained graphologists, such as those who have earned certification from a respected handwriting analysis school. In doing so, the problem of varying interpretations is eliminated.

Concern:
“How does a person’s handwriting tell you ‘this person can or can’t do the job?’ This does not seem like a reasonable tool to help make hiring decisions.”

Answer:
First, through the complex coordination of physical body, the nervous system, and mind function, you express yourself in your writing like no one else. Handwriting is called an expression of your true self because it has been shown to directly link to subconscious character, the real personality behind the public persona. It’s really mind-writing and it’s as unique as your fingerprints. Even twins have different fingerprints and they also have different handwriting, sometimes drastically different, if you delve into the hundreds of indicators used for a comprehensive analysis.

Handwriting analysis doesn’t directly predict the success of a job applicant. However, it does provide infomation about whether or not the applicant is a match for the job based on the job description. Motivtions (e.g., social involvement, recognition, money, etc.), intellect, work habits, communication skills, and emotional foundation are some common areas of assessment.

There are many personality traits that aren’t easy to measure by talking to an applicant, reviewing their resume, and having them take standard personality evaluations. Handwriting analysis is so valuable because it assesses subconscious character, the actual personality, aside from the one presented or witnessed when an individual is at their best. It goes beyond evaluating an applicant just for the job tasks.

Handwriting analysis is particularly useful in determining specific personality traits needed for a job, such as consistency, flexibility, sincerity, emotional maturity, ability to make distinctions, decision-making ability, analytical ability, problem solving ability, ability to cope with stress, objectivity, and much more.

Concern:
“What if handwriting analysis exposes a questionable personality dynamic that you wouldn’t see demonstrated on the job, that is totally unrelated to the position? I’d be concerned that this is an invasion of my privacy.”

Answer:
Established legal precedents exist in relation to handwriting analysis. One U.S. court ruled that your script is “behavior in public” and that using it as the foundation of personality evaluation can’t be viewed as an invasion of privacy. U.S. vs. Hazelwood School District 534 F 2nd 805 states that graphology is “not precluded in hiring if it is related to the job.”

Invasion of privacy hinges on the expectation of privacy, which vanishes when you fill out a job application in your handwriting and acknowledge that the employer will read it. Also, employers understand (e.g., through performance agreements, such as the one we use) that only the employer’s decision-makers (i.e., your interviewer, etc.), those supervisory personnel who have a “need to know,” are entitled to see the results of the analysis. The contents of each profile is kept confidential, as per the client-analyst agreement.

Besides, no ethical handwriting analyst would tell your prospective employer about your possible early-life sexual abuse, for example, because it’s not directly related to the job. It’s the responsibility of the graphologist to focus exclusively on personality traits required for optimum job performance, i.e., identify personality strengths and challenges related to the job position.

Concern:
“The majority of adults entering the workforce today can’t even write. It’s becoming an obsolete skill due to computers.”

Answer:
Although people aren’t writing as much as they used to due to computers, we believe almost everyone can still write, even those who just graduated from high school. Even if they use only printing and not cursive, their script can still be analyzed. It’s very doubtful the ability to write will become totally obsolete.

We recommend handwriting analysis as one of the most effective forms of personality analysis in existence.
