12 Psychic Myths Many People Believe

Share Button

We’ve encountered many myths about psychic readings over the years. It’s not surprising there’s so much misinformation and fiction related to metaphysical readings; sometimes the practitioners are to blame.

Below are twelve psychic myths based on our over 30 years of experience with the subject.

Psychics know everything.

This is where some psychics get into trouble. They allow their followers and clients to assume they know everything, and then lose respect when they don’t. A very famous psychic let this happen to her. She died a few years ago with a bad reputation because of it.

Being psychic doesn’t mean you know everything. It’s like watching TV. Just because you’re tuned into one channel doesn’t mean you know everything that’s happening on every channel at every moment.

No psychic is 100% accurate 100% of the time.

Sometimes a reader won’t perceive something because you’re not supposed to know it.

Also, regarding questions like “What is he thinking?” or “Does she like me?”, it’s not your right to violate anyone’s privacy and pry into their mind.

Psychics can erase karma.

No one can erase another person’s karma. You must balance it yourself by experiencing whatever is related to it.

Psychics can bring a lover back or stop divorce.

No, they can’t, and if someone tells you they can they’re lying or delusional. If it’s over, it’s over. Using love spells for this is spiritual manipulation and black magic, and will create negative karma for you and the psychic.

Psychics can tell you if your partner cheated.

Some might be able to, but your relationship may not be worth saving if you have to ask a stranger such a question.

Psychics can predict the big lottery jackpot numbers.

Maybe if you’re destined to win, but you probably aren’t, so they won’t be able to perceive the numbers for you.

Only psychics are psychic.

Everyone has some degree of psychic ability. You can increase yours to a degree through regular meditation. Meditation will help you relax, focus, and become more aware of the answers to your questions.

You can alter your destiny.

Some psychics claim, “Nothing is set in stone.” We’ve found that most major events in everyone’s life are predestined. You then have free will to react to them.

Psychics tap into demonic energy and should be avoided, along with all other non-religious spiritual practices.

Psychic work, tarot cards, astrology, numerology, channeling, and other metaphysical practices are not demonic or negative by themselves. However, it is possible to tap into dark energy, with or without metaphysics, if you don’t know how to protect yourself.

Because of this, we recommend visualizing yourself surrounded in white Light, asking for protection and guidance from guides of the Light and your God, avoiding drugs and negative people, and avoiding black magic or similar dark energy rituals.

Only experienced mediums can communicate with the dead.

The loss of a loved one is always difficult. It’s only natural to want to contact them and continue communication.

We believe loved ones who cross over do check in from time to time with those they left behind, are there for you when you need them, and frequently try to help.

The trouble is, however, most of us are not conditioned at an early age to be open to or identify communication from the other side. Most people miss the signs.

In our experience, people who are spiritually sensitive can perceive communication from the other side. For everyone else, daily meditation can help you be more receptive to such insight, as will accepting that your loved ones who crossed over can hear you, and want to help.

Reincarnation and karma are not related or that important.

A good psychic understands that you can’t have one without the other, how much they influence your current life (a lot), and that accepting these theories is empowering through personal responsibility.

Your soul mates are mainly for romance.

Everyone has many soul mates and most of them are for spiritual growth. Anyone who says otherwise needs to stop reading so many romance novels.

Astrology and numerology are only about possibilities.

Once you move beyond the superficiality of modern astrology (e.g., horoscopes, exclusive focus on transits, solar returns, etc.), into comprehensive charting using ancient methodologies, you escape the “only possibilities” nonsense and start to identify “here it comes” predestined life events and circumstances.

Our Favorite Spiritual Laws

Share Button

Everyone has heard about the law of attraction, but there are other spiritual laws about which you should be more excited.

Embracing these spiritual laws will help you get the most out of your life by minimizing negative circumstances and generating peace of mind and satisfaction.

Our long-term empirical findings indicate everyone is bound to specific spiritual laws, just like heavenly bodies are bound to Kepler’s three laws of planetary motion, which outline how they orbit the Sun.

Below we list our favorite spiritual laws.

1. The law of karma dictates that every good intent, thought, and action will return to you, in time. How great is that? Also, any injustice will balance itself out, eventually, so seeking revenge is pointless, and it incurs further karma anyway.

At the same time, this law demands personal responsibility. Thus, if you find yourself on the receiving end of some tough karma, the best approach is to change what you can and accept the rest.

You don’t ever have to worry if life is fair because the law of karma dictates it’s perfectly fair. We believe what goes around comes around, usually in future lifetimes, not this life.

You can “create your reality” to a certain extent but your actions now will have as much or more impact on your future lives. This is related to another law, the law of predestination.

2. The law of predestination (same as destiny, fate, and predetermination) is wonderful because all those rewards you’ve worked so hard for in past incarnations catch up to you eventually, sometimes in this life. At the same time, life’s challenges are also part of personal fate. Perceiving them from a different perspective, as necessary experiences for a higher purpose, makes them easier to digest.

3. The law of reincarnation causes you to keep incarnating until you get it right. How do you get it right? Do your best and react with love and compassion instead of fear, as often as possible. Easier said than done.

The great thing about the law of reincarnation (in conjunction with the law of personal fate) is that you take with you a lot of what you establish while in bodily form: talents, wisdom, health karma, money karma, and so on.

Lofty goals may not be so lofty when viewed from the perspective of multiple lifetimes. Have you always had a burning desire to be a famous actor, for example, but you don’t see it happening in this life? Keep dreaming and using your free will to work toward your goal, even if it’s only doing community theater in your free time. Thoughts are things, and although they may not manifest in this life, they may eventually if backed by enough energy.

4. The law of as above, so below (i.e., celestial phenomena is symbolic of life on Earth) mandates that patterns in comprehensive astrology and numerology charts reflect life circumstances and events. This is one of our favorite spiritual laws because you can use the knowledge to prepare for and limit life’s challenges, and maximize life’s rewards.

5. The law of universal order, as with the law of as above so below, shows that the universe is orderly, not chaotic. Heavenly bodies spin and orbit predictably, the seasons change when we expect them to, pumpkin seeds grow pumpkins and not strawberries, and horses birth foals and not lambs. The law of universal order underscores the human experience, allowing for the measurement and interpretation of overall personal fate through comprehensive astrology and numerology.

Ultimately, the above spiritual laws are exciting and inspiring because they indicate that life is so much more than a random series of events. It has infinite spiritual meaning, and you can take unconditional love, compassion, and lots of other good things with you into the next phase of your soul’s journey.

Spiritual Power: The Three Stages of Faith

Share Button

Faith, or having complete and unshakable confidence things will turn out okay, is a powerful spiritual practice. Along with gratitude, faith helps you make the most of your fate.

Typically, those on the path to self-actualization experience three stages of faith.

The first stage of faith involves realizing what it is and that it’s worthy of your focus. In the second stage, you know what it is, you understand the power of it, yet it’s a regular challenge to maintain it. The third stage is possessing faith so strong, it chases away anxiety and fear. While you may live in the third stage occasionally or even a lot of the time, it’s rare to constantly exist in this stage.

You can be sure you’re not alone if you’re usually camped in the second stage. For most people, it takes a lot of practice to spend most of your waking hours in the third stage.

Below we list seven ways to expedite your transition into a more permanent everyday third stage of faith:

1. Meditate daily. Even if you only do it for ten minutes a day, it helps you separate from the fears of your subconscious mind. You can’t shut down the thoughts of your subconscious, but you can gain peace and detach from the mind through meditation.

2. Simplify your life. The less clutter and useless activity you have in your life, the more you can focus on important things, such as your loved ones and goals.

3. Practice daily affirmations, such as “I always have enough.” Write them down and post them where you’ll see them, or create a daily reminder alert on your phone.

4. Avoid excess sugar, processed foods and oils, and other junk. You’ll be amazed how level-headed you feel, and how much easier it is to maintain faith, when you fuel your body with healthy choices.

5. Exercise regularly. The stronger your health and vitality, the greater your energy and the easier it is to rise above the poison arrows and little demons, and keep the faith.

6. Accept what you can’t change and focus on what you can change. When you make positive changes and your desired outcome is within your predetermined path, the power of faith, “acting as if,” will help you get there.

7. Bridge your faith by focusing on the desired outcome and how it will feel upon reaching that goal. For example, think of how you’ll feel when you’ve paid your rent on time or paid off your car loan. How will you celebrate?

A person who possesses infinite faith magnifies his optimism, increases his happiness, has a greater feeling of control in his life, and deals with life’s challenges more effectively. Tremendous faith can magically transform your life, within the boundaries of personal fate.

The three stages of faith–realizing it exists, understanding the power of it and attempting to apply it to every part of your life, and finally, maintaining unwavering faith–are ultimately about developing spiritual power. Cultivate the power of faith (and gratitude) as often as you can and watch your life change for the better.

5 Future Predictions That Won’t Happen Due to the Laws of Fate and Karma

Share Button

The world is currently experiencing a technology boom and the future looks incredibly exciting. We believe technology and the overall standard of living will be exponentially more advanced, beyond your imagination, in the near future.

However, many seemingly possible future life predictions won’t manifest due to the laws of fate and karma. Below we list seven.

1. Robotic and DNA engineers promise to create immortal humans. Simply go to your local DNA manipulation shop and free yourself from the restraints of the cycle of birth and death. Live forever, they say. This won’t happen because your soul (not your personality) determines your life’s particulars, and it has plans for your next lives too. The same goes for the concept of transferring your consciousness from one platform to the next, never dying. This might be possible some day after scientists finally accept that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience, and then address the soul instead of just the brain and body, but we’re a long way away from that.

2. The global, bureaucratic elite are aiming for a one-world currency. This won’t happen for the same reason a one-world government won’t happen: individual sovereign nation states have their own unique styles and trying to combine all the different cultures, forms of government, and fiscal policies is a recipe for disaster. The laws of fate and karma dictate that personal freedom is essential for spiritual growth.

Besides, the more power you, as a free individual, surrender to a centralized power, the greater the likelihood of tyranny. Individual sovereign nation states are a good thing, as is free market competition. We’re excited about future technology fostering more effective forms of bartering and financial exchange.

3. Religious extremists of various faiths and other bigots throughout the world are calling for homosexuality to be overcome in the future. They couldn’t be more wrong. Based on our empirical research, we believe sexual orientation is innate and exists before incarnating, rather than a choice like what you decide to have for dinner. As humans become more accepting and tolerant, sexual orientation will eventually be a non-issue everywhere.

4. We’re all for mutually rewarding, monogamous, long-term relationships, and tip our hats to those who are currently enjoying such a union. But the future won’t include more traditional American marriages and families; that relationship model may even fade into obscurity, eventually.

We believe one, five, or ten year marriage contracts will be popular in the future, just like they were common in ancient Egypt (if you’re both still compatible and happy, simply renew the contract). The trend will be toward more honesty and freedom in personal relationships because fate and karma demand it. The reason you see so much unhappiness today in relationships is because people have been conditioned to conform, swim upstream and fight the natural current of fate.

5. Technology will continue to do wonders for communication, but it won’t make tyrants and bullies nice people. War, in some form or another (e.g., economic warfare), and strife will never cease to exist on this planet due to the law of polarities. Utopia only exists on the other side, though technological advances and a growing number of people embracing the laws of fate and karma will create a better future.

Communication through thought transmission, increasing your intelligence through soft (brain implant) computing, inexpensive and unlimited fuel and power sources, new and faster ways of long-distance travel, non-invasive and cheap detection of cancer and other diseases, self-driving cars, holographic images of other people in your office or home instead of video communication, and much more makes the future very exciting. But the laws of fate and karma forever prevail.

11 Magic Affirmations to Magnify Confidence and Sense of Humor

Share Button

The power of affirmations can improve and even transform your life in many ways.

Can they help you reach any goal? Can you alter any situation to your liking? While positive thinking and the law of attraction are important, you need to consider other spiritual laws too. For example, the laws of karma and predetermination supersede the law of attraction.

We’ve found in our empirical research that a lot in life is fated (which is the same as being destined), which mirrors your personal timing.

Thankfully, you’re not just a puppet; you can make the most of your fate with your free will.

One way you can do this is with affirmations. What you think and believe can influence your reality, within the borders of your fate.

Affirmations are especially helpful when you’re plagued by worries, self-doubt and negative thoughts. Life is stressful and challenging, and how you perceive it can make a big difference. Take control and replace counter-productive thoughts with positive thoughts; it’s a simple and healthy way to use the incredible power of your mind.

The subconscious mind has a huge impact on your life and subconscious fears and defenses can cause lots of problems. Defenses include guilt, jealousy, selfishness, anger, argumentativeness, a domineering attitude, resentment, a temper, an anti-social personality, secretiveness, arrogance, vanity, and many more.

It’s not easy to change. In fact, sometimes your subconscious mind will go to great lengths to stay exactly where you are, what it considers safe, even if you consciously want to improve.

Fortunately, your subconscious mind can’t tell the difference between reality and imagination. Therefore, repeating affirmations is an affective way to help you reach your goals or just to feel better.

Confidence and a sense of humor can make just about any situation easier to deal with, even change a stressful or unhappy situation into one you triumph over. With a little effort, you can increase yours with the magic of affirmations.

Below are 11 magic affirmations to help you magnify your confidence and sense of humor. The more you repeat them, the more your subconscious mind will embrace them, and the more you’ll naturally act confident and be funny.

Choose one or more of the following affirmations, write it down and tape it to your computer or dashboard. Repeat it many times a day, especially when you find yourself feeling fearful or thinking negative thoughts. You can also use them as a mantra on which to focus in meditation.

1) I am feeling more confident every day.

2) I feel peaceful, relaxed, and self-assured. (It’s easier to be confident and funny when you’re relaxed.)

3) I relax easily by breathing slowly and deeply.

4) I enjoy finding humor in life and making people laugh.

5) I find humor in everything and love to laugh.

6) I am happy, humorous, and fun to be around.

7) I feel calm, relaxed, and hopeful around other people.

8) I exude confidence, sincerity, and humor.

9) I radiate warmth, self-confidence, and love.

10) I sparkle with self-confidence, humor, and vitality.

11) I make people laugh with ease and confidence.

Note: Affirmations will not change your fate, but if you use them often enough, they’ll bridge the gap to a better reality.

Now that you know how thoughts influence reality, you can use these affirmations to increase your confidence and sense of humor.

Similar affirmations and more are included in the Sense of Humor/Confidence/Relax Soundless Subliminal™ Just press “play” and let this powerful MP3 do all the work!

Addressing Skepticism About the Concept of Karma

Share Button

Long-term empirical research tells us that the concept of karma is valid, though we regularly encounter people with misconceptions about the spiritual tenet.

For example, we received this anonymous e-mail recently: “Who are you to tell anyone they deserve what happens to them. This is your belief, not a fact. I do not believe in karma. Period. You people have your views, and they’re your views, but kindly accept that there are those who disagree.”

Actually, we’ve never said that people “deserve what happens to them.” That statement implies a vengeful god that punishes people for their sins.

We don’t believe anyone deserves to be conned, robbed, murdered, raped, or forced to endure any other atrocities that regularly occur on planet Earth.

The truth, as we see it, is actually quite different, and to understand it you must view it from a spiritual perspective.

Spiritual laws of the universe go far beyond the third dimensional physical plane, which is why it’s impossible to escape full personal responsibility for every one of your actions.

Definition of Karma

We define karma as everything you do, say, or intend–starting from when your soul first existed–which could have been thousands of years ago, on Earth or elsewhere–coming back to you in equal measure. Your karma today is mostly what your soul created before this life.

Virtually everyone alive today has lived multiple existences and generated both positive and negative karma; everyone has been both a “good person” and a “bad person,” many times.

Spiritual laws are like gravity–they simply exist. A cat jumps out the window of the thirtieth floor. A witness states, “The cat got what it deserved.” Well, yes, the law of gravity dictates that it won’t end well, but saying that the cat deserved it sounds rather cruel. It’s simply what happens when the cat jumps out the window, according to the immutable law of gravity.

Likewise, pillaging that village 10,000 years ago has consequences, even though you were following orders and thought you got away with it.

7 Key Findings About Karma

1. As mentioned above, most of the karma you endure (or enjoy, if rewarding) originates from prior existences, not this life.

2. Karma isn’t instant. What you do today may not come back to you for lifetimes, though if you do the right thing, the positive situations and feelings you generate (if you’re not a sociopath) sure can make your current existence more pleasant.

3. Negative circumstances and events in a person’s life may not be karma, but instead part of a soul plan to help others. For example, a person who suffers discrimination may not have discriminated against others in a previous life, but the situation brings attention to the problem of discrimination and helps to reduce the amount of discrimination in the future.

4. As long as you treat people fairly, respectfully and don’t cause intentional harm, you aren’t generating negative karma. For instance, divorcing your spouse won’t incur negative karma as long as you do so peacefully. What is best for you is often best for everyone else, even if they resist it. Note: false guilt can generate karmic circumstances.

5. Unfulfilled desires aren’t always rooted in negative karma. You may cherish the idea of a perfect love relationship and yearn for it, yet never attain it. It’s not because of negative karma, but unrealistic expectations.

6. Sometimes a challenging situation is not about karma but instead a helpful lesson for you. For example, you realize much later in life that the strife in your family relationships you painstakingly endured helped you solidify your convictions and make you a stronger person, which will serve you well in your next lifetime.

7. Sometimes difficult times are not karmic payback, but your collective timing. Our findings show that life is cyclical and that everyone’s timing is different. If your timing is not conducive to your goals at this time, it very well may be in the future. Hang in there.

Now that you know karma isn’t a dubious explanation of life circumstances, that cause and effect is a valid spiritual law, you can avoid the blame and victimization game and act with a fresh perspective.

7 Signs You Are Captain of Your Destiny and Fate is Not Real

Share Button

The fate vs. free will argument has been around for eons. We believe you have free will to make the most of your fate and even shape it, but not how you may think.

The motivational and self-help marketplace is full of well-intentioned professionals promising to make you the captain of your destiny. You can do anything you put your mind to, anything, they say. All you have to do is work hard, believe in yourself, and follow their advice.

We’re all for inspiration, but we like it to be rooted in reality.

Very few in that industry will concede to the concepts of reincarnation and personal fate. After all, you only have one life, they say. Others claim you’re just a body and brain with no soul. Fair enough–everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

Unfortunately, if the motivational advice doesn’t work, a follower will feel like a failure, not understanding that outcomes depend on fate and that the journey is just as or more important than the goal.

The definition of fate, in part, includes events and circumstances in your life that you have no control over and cannot change. It’s pretty straight forward, but we’ve encountered many people who deny this basic concept or alter the definition to fit their agenda.

Are you in complete control of your destiny? Below we list seven signs you are the captain of your destiny.

1. You’re able to control the choices and actions of others–what they think, say, and do. You never face any insurmountable obstacles in your interpersonal interactions because you’re the master of your reality. Your superhero cape is as beautiful as you are brilliant!

2. Your health and that of everyone you love is like that of an Olympic gold medalist swimmer. There are rarely any physical limitations or illnesses to distract you from living the dream life you demand. If you ever do encounter any, you cure it with your magic wand and then go on to have the best year ever!

3. Despite clear evidence to the contrary, you believe you control your subconscious mind. All those hidden fears and defenses (e.g., arrogance) don’t bother you, and you never screw up because of them.

4. You’ve never experienced anything but success in your career. Every money-making venture you’ve undertaken has turned to gold, exactly to your high expectations. Nobody ever blocks your plans or projects because everyone knows you are the CEO of your existence and to do so would be an affront to the power of the universe. All you have to do is get in touch with the abundance of the universe and it’s yours, right?

5. All your relationships, including early life, family, romantic, and professional are completely harmonious. There’s no resistance, strife, or negativity. It’s common for you and all your loved ones to spontaneously break into song about the perfection of your relationships.

6. Every time you travel, nothing goes wrong. Delays, cancellations, bad weather, rip-offs, and other travel problems are for other people, because you are the controller of your reality.

7. Whenever something unwanted or unexpected happens in your life, you wave your favorite motivational book at the problem and call out, “I am the wizard of my reality! I command thee to go my way!” Magically, things do go your way because you create everything in your life, exactly to your tastes.

Unfortunately, nobody has super-human powers that will change their preordained fate.

Sometimes it may seem like you changed your fate, but the change was destined, as was using your free will within the framework of your fate.

We believe you can make the most of your fate and you can even shape your future fate (i.e., your fate in future lifetimes) by how you respond now to people, events and conditions in your life.

You can’t eliminate your fate, but you can do your best, which will optimize the rewards and limit the challenges in your life.

6 Explanations Why Good Things Happen to Bad People

Share Button

Why do good things happen to bad people?

An arrogant, cruel actor wins an Academy Award while many seemingly more deserving, talented actors never get noticed.

A ruthless business tycoon successfully builds a billion dollar empire while many ethical business owners fail.

The nasty broad who drinks and smokes lives a long life, while the ever-pleasant sweetheart who leads a very healthy lifestyle dies of cancer at a young age.

A two-faced sociopath inherits $20 million while other people are penniless.

Your enemy, a backstabbing, dishonest, terrible human being, gets the job you wanted.

The demonic, menace to society couple has two beautiful children, while you can’t get pregnant.

A promiscuous woman falls in love and enjoys a wonderful marriage while many good girls are unable to find Mr. Right.

The reasons for these seemingly unfair situations vary, but below are some possible explanations.

1) The person might not be as bad as you perceive them to be. Contrary to what a surprising large number of people believe, sleeping around doesn’t make you a bad person unless you’re intentionally hurting someone or yourself in the process.

There’s no such thing as a puritanical love fairy that rewards celibate people with good relationships.

How well do you know the billionaire who is alleged to be heartless or the actor who isn’t known for his interpersonal skills? Despite what you hear in the media, if you’ve never met someone, it’s impossible to know their personality.

2) Good and bad things happen to all people. Not getting what you want in life is not a punishment; our findings show it’s merely not part of your predestination in this life. Getting what you work for is rewarding, but you may not always get what you want. Your soul has lived many lives, not just one. This life is not a stand-alone experience.

3) No one gets away with anything. Even though it may sometimes seem like only good things happen to people who do bad things, this is only your perception and they’ll have to balance their actions eventually, usually not until future lives.

4) A pact with the devil. Just as it’s possible to call upon positive helpers of the Light, such as angels and guides, for insight and assistance in reaching your goals, you can do the same with dark or demonic entities. Caution! While help from the Light is unconditional, it’s anything but with the dark side; you’ll be enslaved to them indefinitely.

5) Is it luck? You make your own “luck” through hard work and determination. If someone is behaving badly, rest assured they are creating plenty of bad “luck” for their future incarnations.

6) It’s karmic. Just as you can only see the tip of a giant iceberg above the water, sometimes all the effort that went into a certain goal is not obvious. Many “over night successes” took lifetimes of effort. The general inclination of your life circumstances today is based on yourpast life, and or in-between life actions.

While it may sometimes seem like there’s no use in being a good person because good things happen to bad people, don’t follow their examples; treat others well and you’ll create positive situations for your future.

Identify subconscious fears and blocks, cleanse and protect yourself from dark energy, learn about your past lives, and much more with our Direct Your Destiny e-package.

5 Sure Signs of Spiritual Progress

Share Button

Our long-term empirical findings show that you’re here on planet Earth primarily to make spiritual progress. The more progress you make now, the more you’ll be rewarded later, and eventually you’ll complete the cycle of reincarnation.

You can’t control how you’re spiritually tested, but you do have free will to react in a positive way.

How do you react to life’s challenges? We believe there exist distinct signs that indicate a person is making progress in the spiritual game of life. Below we list five.

1. Finally accepting what you can’t change in life, particularly people, while doing your best to change what you can, goes a long way toward spiritual mastery. Trying to change your spouse’s habits, or your friend’s attitude is futile. Doing your best to develop your talents to be more successful earns good karma, but dwelling on missed opportunities is a waste of energy. As a bonus, once you accept that which you have no control over, your peace of mind and happiness increases.

2. Consistently appreciating everything in your life, including the challenges for what they teach you, is a sign that you are becoming spiritually adept. The more you appreciate, the more you express gratitude, the more rewarding your life becomes.

3. Expressing authentic unconditional love on a regular basis is absolutely a sign that you are spiritually progressing. Conversely, conditional love, such as “I’ll love you if you do this,” or attempting to control, shows that a person is not quite getting it. Unfortunately, most people inconsistently express unconditional love in their relationships. But to their credit, it’s not easy to embrace someone with unconditional love who displays a complete lack of respect.

Although we recommend always striving to express unconditional love, it’s quite healthy to constructively express disappointment, annoyance, and other negative emotions, or even use anger in self-defense. Truth be told, if a person walked around every day never expressing conditional love, they’re probably out of their mind.

4. Regularly viewing others (and yourself) without judgment is a very significant sign you are making great strides in your spiritual progress. Similarly, when you suspend judgment it’s easier to see people exactly as they are rather than how you are (i.e., projecting). Of course, everyone judges everyone on a regular basis, but the key is to detach from it, and attempt to suspend judgment.

5. Living in the moment is a key indication you are making spiritual progress. How do you do this? Regular meditation helps a lot. Instead of concerning yourself with the past or worrying about the future, regular meditation will help you remain in the present moment, which is more peaceful and rich. Exercise, art, and sex are other activities that will help. Clearly, excessive living in the moment, as in neglecting your responsibilities in life and abandoning your goals, is to be avoided. Meditating all day, every day won’t allow you to learn your life lessons and accomplish what you’re supposed to.

It’s important to note that nobody constantly expresses all of these virtues without fail (be wary of permanently smiling, so-called gurus who “never” express negativity). You can’t completely eliminate strife and conflict. It is part of life as are anger, worry, and other fear-based emotions. But if you sincerely strive toward the above-mentioned ideals, they’ll eventually be part of your natural way of living and it will be a sure sign you’re making great spiritual progress.

It’s that time of year again. Countless Valentine’s Day ads remind you of your happy love life, or if you’re like most people, your less than perfect romantic life.

Contrary to the implications of this commercial holiday, there’s nothing wrong with being single, or having a non-traditional relationship.

No matter what your love life status, here are some love life tips you can use year-round to make the most of it.

1) Accept how your love life is right now. This isn’t easy, so you’ll have to repeatedly remind yourself, especially when it seems like your circumstances couldn’t get worse. Once you accept being single or your relationship as it is, it will be easier to cherish the good things about your situation, and sometimes that will encourage change for the better.

2) Accept that you don’t need someone else to make you happy. You are all you need, believe it or not. Once you understand this, a relationship becomes an added bonus rather than a narcotic drug you can’t live without. Love addicts experience the crash and yearning for more far more often than the high.

3) Learn to not care about what other people think about your love life. It’s really none of their business. Do what makes you happy, even if it’s not the norm. If you don’t, you’ll have regrets at the end of your life.

4) Don’t fall for the “one and only soul mate” lie. Some love life experts claim to have the key to finding “the one,” “your twin soul,” and other fanciful love life goals. We’ve found through our years of empirical research that everyone has many soul mates, and most of them are not meant to result in a life-long, blissful relationship.

5) Don’t fall for the “together forever” fantasy. Sure, it’s possible, and in rare cases couples do grow old together without great suffering and sacrifices that make them die inside. Unfortunately, most couples who commit at a very young age find that they’re not compatible enough for a traditional relationship after five, ten, or twenty years. Couples in prior generations had to remain together due to sociological and economical reasons. Today, singles and couples have more options, and that’s a good thing. The length of a relationship isn’t important; what you learn and the love you give is.

6) Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t have an ideal relationship, the type of love life that some celebrities seem to have as described in the media. Like an airbrushed photo, what they present to the world and the reality might be two different things. In fact, in some cases, you might be shocked to know the truth about the relationship.

7) Consider karma and fate. Even if you use your free will to do all you can to improve your love life, and you should, things won’t always go as you hope due to the ever-present laws of karma and fate. This doesn’t mean you’re being punished, but it might mean that you’re going through a learning phase now for a more wonderful love experience later.

8) Lighten up and relax! It’s so easy to get caught up in your routine and be stressed out from the responsibilities of life. But if you don’t take “me time” to relax, rejuvenate, and become centered, whether it’s through meditation or other ways, it’s more difficult to present your best, beautiful self to your partner or a new potential love interest.
